حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ بُکَيْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ خَالِدٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَلْحَلَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَائٍ وَحَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ وَيَزِيدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَلْحَلَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَائٍ أَنَّهُ کَانَ جَالِسًا مَعَ نَفَرٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَکَرْنَا صَلَاةَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أَبُو حُمَيْدٍ السَّاعِدِيُّ أَنَا کُنْتُ أَحْفَظَکُمْ لِصَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَيْتُهُ إِذَا کَبَّرَ جَعَلَ يَدَيْهِ حِذَائَ مَنْکِبَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَکَعَ أَمْکَنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنْ رُکْبَتَيْهِ ثُمَّ هَصَرَ ظَهْرَهُ فَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ اسْتَوَی حَتَّی يَعُودَ کُلُّ فَقَارٍ مَکَانَهُ فَإِذَا سَجَدَ وَضَعَ يَدَيْهِ غَيْرَ مُفْتَرِشٍ وَلَا قَابِضِهِمَا وَاسْتَقْبَلَ بِأَطْرَافِ أَصَابِعِ رِجْلَيْهِ الْقِبْلَةَ فَإِذَا جَلَسَ فِي الرَّکْعَتَيْنِ جَلَسَ عَلَی رِجْلِهِ الْيُسْرَی وَنَصَبَ الْيُمْنَی وَإِذَا جَلَسَ فِي الرَّکْعَةِ الْآخِرَةِ قَدَّمَ رِجْلَهُ الْيُسْرَی وَنَصَبَ الْأُخْرَی وَقَعَدَ عَلَی مَقْعَدَتِهِ وَسَمِعَ اللَّيْثُ يَزِيدَ بْنَ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ وَيَزِيدُ مِنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَلْحَلَةَ وَابْنُ حَلْحَلَةَ مِنْ ابْنِ عَطَائٍ قَالَ أَبُو صَالِحٍ عَنْ اللَّيْثِ کُلُّ فَقَارٍ وَقَالَ ابْنُ الْمُبَارَکِ عَنْ يَحْيَی بْنِ أَيُّوبَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَهُ کُلُّ فَقَارٍ

Narrated Muhammad bin `Amr bin `Ata': I was sitting with some of the companions of Allah's Apostle and we were discussing about the way of praying of the Prophet. Abu Humaid As-Sa`idi said, "I remember the prayer of Allah's Apostle better than any one of you. I saw him raising both his hands up to the level of the shoulders on saying the Takbir; and on bowing he placed his hands on both knees and bent his back straight, then he stood up straight from bowing till all the vertebrate took their normal positions. In prostrations, he placed both his hands on the ground with the forearms away from the ground and away from his body, and his toes were facing the Qibla. On sitting In the second rak`a he sat on his left foot and propped up the right one; and in the last rak`a he pushed his left foot forward and kept the other foot propped up and sat over the buttocks."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ هُرْمُزَ مَوْلَی بَنِي عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً مَوْلَی رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ ابْنَ بُحَيْنَةَ وَهُوَ مِنْ أَزْدِ شَنُوئَةَ وَهُوَ حَلِيفٌ لِبَنِي عَبْدِ مَنَافٍ وَکَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّی بِهِمْ الظَّهْرَ فَقَامَ فِي الرَّکْعَتَيْنِ الْأُولَيَيْنِ لَمْ يَجْلِسْ فَقَامَ النَّاسُ مَعَهُ حَتَّی إِذَا قَضَی الصَّلَاةَ وَانْتَظَرَ النَّاسُ تَسْلِيمَهُ کَبَّرَ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسَلِّمَ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ

Narrated `Abdullah bin Buhaina: (he was from the tribe of Uzd Shanu'a [??] and was the ally of the tribe of `Abdul-Manaf and was one of the companions of the Prophet): Once the Prophet led us in the Zuhr prayer and stood up after the second rak`a and did not sit down. The people stood up with him. When the prayer was about to end and the people were waiting for him to say the Taslim, he said Takbir while sitting and prostrated twice before saying the Taslim and then he said the Taslim."

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بَکْرٌ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ ابْنِ بُحَيْنَةَ قَالَ صَلَّی بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الظُّهْرَ فَقَامَ وَعَلَيْهِ جُلُوسٌ فَلَمَّا کَانَ فِي آخِرِ صَلَاتِهِ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ

Narrated `Abdullah bin Malik bin Buhaina: Once Allah's Apostle led us in the Zuhr prayer and got up (after the prostrations of the second rak`a) although he should have sat (for the Tashahhud). So at the end of the prayer, he prostrated twice while sitting (prostrations of Sahu).

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ شَقِيقِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ کُنَّا إِذَا صَلَّيْنَا خَلْفَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قُلْنَا السَّلَامُ عَلَی جِبْرِيلَ وَمِيکَائِيلَ السَّلَامُ عَلَی فُلَانٍ وَفُلَانٍ فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ السَّلَامُ فَإِذَا صَلَّی أَحَدُکُمْ فَلْيَقُلْ التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ وَالصَّلَوَاتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْکَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَکَاتُهُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَی عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الصَّالِحِينَ فَإِنَّکُمْ إِذَا قُلْتُمُوهَا أَصَابَتْ کُلَّ عَبْدٍ لِلَّهِ صَالِحٍ فِي السَّمَائِ وَالْأَرْضِ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ

Narrated Shaqiq bin Salama: `Abdullah said, "Whenever we prayed behind the Prophet we used to recite (in sitting) 'Peace be on Gabriel, Michael, peace be on so and so. Once Allah's Apostle looked back at us and said, 'Allah Himself is As-Salam (Peace), and if anyone of you prays then he should say, at-Tahiyatu li l-lahi wa ssalawatu wa t-taiyibat. As-salamu `alalika aiyuha n-Nabiyu wa rahmatu l-lahi wa barakatuh. Assalamu `alaina wa `ala `ibadi l-lahi s-salihin. (All the compliments, prayers and good things are due to Allah; peace be on you, O Prophet, and Allah's mercy and blessings [be on you]. Peace be on us an on the pious subjects of Allah). (If you say that, it will reach all the subjects in the heaven and the earth). Ash-hadu al-la ilaha illa l-lah, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan `Abduhu wa Rasuluh. (I testify that there is no Deity [worthy of worship] but Allah, and I testify that Muhammad is His slave and His Apostle).

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَانَ يَدْعُو فِي الصَّلَاةِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِکَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَأَعُوذُ بِکَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ وَأَعُوذُ بِکَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَفِتْنَةِ الْمَمَاتِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِکَ مِنْ الْمَأْثَمِ وَالْمَغْرَمِ فَقَالَ لَهُ قَائِلٌ مَا أَکْثَرَ مَا تَسْتَعِيذُ مِنْ الْمَغْرَمِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ إِذَا غَرِمَ حَدَّثَ فَکَذَبَ وَوَعَدَ فَأَخْلَفَ وَعَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْتَعِيذُ فِي صَلَاتِهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الدَّجَّالِ

Narrated `Aisha: (the wife of the Prophet) Allah's Apostle used to invoke Allah in the prayer saying "Allahumma inni a`udhu bika min `adhabi l-qabr, wa a`udhu bika min fitnati l-masihi d-dajjal, wa a`udhu bika min fitnati l-mahya wa fitnati l-mamat. Allahumma inni a`udhu bika mina l-ma'thami wa l-maghram. (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the punishment of the grave, from the afflictions of the imposter- Messiah, and from the afflictions of life and death. O Allah, I seek refuge with You from sins and from debt)." Somebody said to him, "Why do you so frequently seek refuge with Allah from being in debt?" The Prophet replied, "A person in debt tells lies whenever he speaks, and breaks promises whenever he makes (them)."

Aisha also narrated: I heard Allah's Apostle in his prayer seeking refuge with Allah from the afflictions of Ad-Dajjal.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي بَکْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلِّمْنِي دُعَائً أَدْعُو بِهِ فِي صَلَاتِي قَالَ قُلْ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي ظُلْمًا کَثِيرًا وَلَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ فَاغْفِرْ لِي مَغْفِرَةً مِنْ عِنْدِکَ وَارْحَمْنِي إِنَّک أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ

Narrated Abu Bakr As-Siddiq: I asked Allah's Apostle to teach me an invocation so that I may invoke Allah with it in my prayer. He told me to say, "Allahumma inni zalumtu nafsi zulman kathiran, Wala yaghfiru dh-dhunuba illa anta, fa ghfir li maghfiratan min `indika, wa r-hamni, innaka anta l-ghafuru r-rahim (O Allah! I have done great injustice to myself and none except You forgives sins, so bestow on me a forgiveness from You, and Have Mercy on me, You are the Forgiver, the Merciful).

لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ عَلِّمْنِي دُعَائً أَدْعُو بِهِ فِي صَلَاتِي ← أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ أَنَّهُ ← عَبْدِ اللہِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ← أَبِي الْخَيْرِ ← يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ← اللَّيْثُ ← قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ حَدَّثَنِي شَقِيقٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ کُنَّا إِذَا کُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ قُلْنَا السَّلَامُ عَلَی اللَّهِ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ السَّلَامُ عَلَی فُلَانٍ وَفُلَانٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَقُولُوا السَّلَامُ عَلَی اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ السَّلَامُ وَلَکِنْ قُولُوا التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ وَالصَّلَوَاتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْکَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَکَاتُهُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَی عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الصَّالِحِينَ فَإِنَّکُمْ إِذَا قُلْتُمْ أَصَابَ کُلَّ عَبْدٍ فِي السَّمَائِ أَوْ بَيْنَ السَّمَائِ وَالْأَرْضِ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ثُمَّ يَتَخَيَّرُ مِنْ الدُّعَائِ أَعْجَبَهُ إِلَيْهِ فَيَدْعُو

Narrated `Abdullah: When we prayed with the Prophet we used to say, "Peace be on Allah from His slaves and peace be on so and so." The Prophet said, "Don't say As-Salam be on Allah, for He Himself is As-Salam, but say, at-tahiyatu li l-lahi wa s-salawatu wa t-taiyibat. As-salamu `alaika aiyuha n-Nabiyu wa rahmatu l-lahi wa barakatuh. As-salamu `alaina wa `ala `ibadi l-lahi s-salihin. (If you say this then it will reach all the slaves in heaven or between heaven and earth). Ash-hadu al la-ilaha illa l-lah, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan `Abduhu wa Rasuluh.' Then select the invocation you like best and recite it." (See Hadith No. 794, 795 & 796).

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَی بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ هِنْدٍ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ أَنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ کَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ قَامَ النِّسَائُ حِينَ يَقْضِي تَسْلِيمَهُ وَمَکَثَ يَسِيرًا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَقُومَ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ فَأُرَی وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مُکْثَهُ لِکَيْ يَنْفُذَ النِّسَائُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُدْرِکَهُنَّ مَنْ انْصَرَفَ مِنْ الْقَوْمِ

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: I saw Allah's Apostle prostrating in mud and water and saw the mark of mud on his forehead.

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَی بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ هِنْدٍ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ أَنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ کَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ قَامَ النِّسَائُ حِينَ يَقْضِي تَسْلِيمَهُ وَمَکَثَ يَسِيرًا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَقُومَ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ فَأُرَی وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مُکْثَهُ لِکَيْ يَنْفُذَ النِّسَائُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُدْرِکَهُنَّ مَنْ انْصَرَفَ مِنْ الْقَوْمِ

Narrated Um Salama: Whenever Allah's Apostle finished his prayers with Taslim, the women would get up and he would stay on for a while in his place before getting up. Ibn Shihab said, "I think (and Allah knows better), that the purpose of his stay was that the women might leave before the men who had finished their prayer. "

Narrated `Itban bin Malik: We prayed with the Prophet and used to finish our prayer with the Taslim along with him.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي مَحْمُودُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ وَزَعَمَ أَنَّهُ عَقَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَقَلَ مَجَّةً مَجَّهَا مِنْ دَلْوٍ کَانَ فِي دَارِهِمْ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عِتْبَانَ بْنَ مَالِکٍ الْأَنْصارِيَّ ثُمَّ أَحَدَ بَنِي سَالِمٍ قَالَ کُنْتُ أُصَلِّي لِقَوْمِي بَنِي سَالِمٍ فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي أَنْکَرْتُ بَصَرِي وَإِنَّ السُّيُولَ تَحُولُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ مَسْجِدِ قَوْمِي فَلَوَدِدْتُ أَنَّکَ جِئْتَ فَصَلَّيْتَ فِي بَيْتِي مَکَانًا حَتَّی أَتَّخِذَهُ مَسْجِدًا فَقَالَ أَفْعَلُ إِنْ شَائَ اللَّهُ فَغَدَا عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبُو بَکْرٍ مَعَهُ بَعْدَ مَا اشْتَدَّ النَّهَارُ فَاسْتَأْذَنَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَذِنْتُ لَهُ فَلَمْ يَجْلِسْ حَتَّی قَالَ أَيْنَ تُحِبُّ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ مِنْ بَيْتِکَ فَأَشَارَ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ الْمَکَانِ الَّذِي أَحَبَّ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ فِيهِ فَقَامَ فَصَفَفْنَا خَلْفَهُ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ وَسَلَّمْنَا حِينَ سَلَّمَ

Narrated Mahmud bin Ar-Rabi`: I remember Allah's Apostle and also the mouthful of water which he took from a bucket in our house and ejected (on me).
