حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَخْبَرَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ وَمُحَمَّدٍ وَخِلَاسٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ مُوسَی کَانَ رَجُلًا حَيِيًّا وَذَلِکَ قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَی يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَکُونُوا کَالَّذِينَ آذَوْا مُوسَی فَبَرَّأَهُ اللَّهُ مِمَّا قَالُوا وَکَانَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَجِيهًا

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: One day the Prophet ascended Safa mountain and said, "Oh Sabah! " All the Quraish gathered round him and said, "What is the matter?" He said, Look, if I told you that an enemy is going to attack you in the morning or in the evening, would you not believe me?" They said, "Yes, we will believe you." He said, "I am a warner to you in face of a terrible punishment." On that Abu Lahab said, "May you perish ! Is it for this thing that you have gathered us?" So Allah revealed: 'Perish the hands of Abu Lahab!...' (111.1)

أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ← الْحَسَنِ وَمُحَمَّدٍ وَخِلَاسٍ ← عَوْفٌ، ← رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ ← إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ،

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عِکْرِمَةَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا قَضَی اللَّهُ الْأَمْرَ فِي السَّمَائِ ضَرَبَتْ الْمَلَائِکَةُ بِأَجْنِحَتِهَا خُضْعَانًا لِقَوْلِهِ کَأَنَّهُ سِلْسِلَةٌ عَلَی صَفْوَانٍ فَإِذَا فُزِّعَ عَنْ قُلُوبِهِمْ قَالُوا مَاذَا قَالَ رَبُّکُمْ قَالُوا لِلَّذِي قَالَ الْحَقَّ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْکَبِيرُ فَيَسْمَعُهَا مُسْتَرِقُ السَّمْعِ وَمُسْتَرِقُ السَّمْعِ هَکَذَا بَعْضُهُ فَوْقَ بَعْضٍ وَوَصَفَ سُفْيَانُ بِکَفِّهِ فَحَرَفَهَا وَبَدَّدَ بَيْنَ أَصَابِعِهِ فَيَسْمَعُ الْکَلِمَةَ فَيُلْقِيهَا إِلَی مَنْ تَحْتَهُ ثُمَّ يُلْقِيهَا الْآخَرُ إِلَی مَنْ تَحْتَهُ حَتَّی يُلْقِيَهَا عَلَی لِسَانِ السَّاحِرِ أَوْ الْکَاهِنِ فَرُبَّمَا أَدْرَکَ الشِّهَابُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُلْقِيَهَا وَرُبَّمَا أَلْقَاهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يُدْرِکَهُ فَيَکْذِبُ مَعَهَا مِائَةَ کَذْبَةٍ فَيُقَالُ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ قَالَ لَنَا يَوْمَ کَذَا وَکَذَا کَذَا وَکَذَا فَيُصَدَّقُ بِتِلْکَ الْکَلِمَةِ الَّتِي سَمِعَ مِنْ السَّمَائِ

Narrated Abu Dharr: Once I was with the Prophet in the mosque at the time of sunset. The Prophet said, "O Abu Dharr! Do you know where the sun sets?" I replied, "Allah and His Apostle know best." He said, "It goes and prostrates underneath (Allah's) Throne; and that is Allah's Statement:-- 'And the sun runs on its fixed course for a term (decreed). And that is the decree of All-Mighty, the All-Knowing....' (36.38)

أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ← عِكْرِمَةَ، ← عَمْرٍو، ← سُفْيَانَ، ← الْحُمَيْدِيُّ،

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَازِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ صَعِدَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصَّفَا ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فَقَالَ يَا صَبَاحَاهْ فَاجْتَمَعَتْ إِلَيْهِ قُرَيْشٌ قَالُوا مَا لَکَ قَالَ أَرَأَيْتُمْ لَوْ أَخْبَرْتُکُمْ أَنَّ الْعَدُوَّ يُصَبِّحُکُمْ أَوْ يُمَسِّيکُمْ أَمَا کُنْتُمْ تُصَدِّقُونِي قَالُوا بَلَی قَالَ فَإِنِّي نَذِيرٌ لَکُمْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ فَقَالَ أَبُو لَهَبٍ تَبًّا لَکَ أَلِهَذَا جَمَعْتَنَا فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ

Narrated Abu Dharr: I asked the Prophet about the Statement of Allah:-- 'And the sun runs on fixed course for a term (decreed), ' (36.38) He said, "Its course is underneath "Allah's Throne." (Prostration of Sun trees, stars. mentioned in Qur'an and Hadith does not mean like our prostration but it means that these objects are obedient to their Creator (Allah) and they obey for what they have been created for).

فَإِنِّي نَذِيرٌ لَکُمْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ ← بَلٰی ← أَرَأَيْتُمْ لَوْ أَخْبَرْتُکُمْ أَنَّ الْعَدُوَّ يُصَبِّحُکُمْ أَوْ يُمَسِّيکُمْ أَمَا کُنْتُمْ تُصَدِّقُونِي ← مَا لَکَ ← يَا صَبَاحَاهْ فَاجْتَمَعَتْ إِلَيْهِ قُرَيْشٌ ← صَعِدَ النَّبِيُّ الصَّفَا ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ ← ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ← سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ← عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ← الْاَعْمَشِ ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَازِمٍ ← عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ،

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ کُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ عِنْدَ غُرُوبِ الشَّمْسِ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ أَتَدْرِي أَيْنَ تَغْرُبُ الشَّمْسُ قُلْتُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ فَإِنَّهَا تَذْهَبُ حَتَّی تَسْجُدَ تَحْتَ الْعَرْشِ فَذَلِکَ قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَی وَالشَّمْسُ تَجْرِي لِمُسْتَقَرٍّ لَهَا ذَلِکَ تَقْدِيرُ الْعَزِيزِ الْعَلِيمِ

Narrated `Abdullah: Allah's Messenger said, "Nobody has the right to be better than (Jonah) bin Matta."

يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ أَتَدْرِي أَيْنَ تَغْرُبُ الشَّمْسُ قُلْتُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ ← کُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ عِنْدَ غُرُوبِ الشَّمْسِ ← اَبِیْ ذَرٍّ ← أَبِيهِ ← إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ ← الْاَعْمَشِ ← أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ،

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا وَکِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَی وَالشَّمْسُ تَجْرِي لِمُسْتَقَرٍّ لَهَا قَالَ مُسْتَقَرُّهَا تَحْتَ الْعَرْشِ

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "He who says that I am better than Jonah bin Matta, tells a lie.'

«مُسْتَقَرُّهَا تَحْتَ الْعَرْشِ» ← قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَی وَالشَّمْسُ تَجْرِي لِمُسْتَقَرٍّ لَهَا ← سَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ ← اَبِیْ ذَرٍّ ← أَبِيهِ ← إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ ← الْاَعْمَشِ ← وَكِيعٌ، ← الْحُمَيْدِيُّ،

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا يَنْبَغِي لِأَحَدٍ أَنْ يَکُونَ خَيْرًا مِنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ مَتَّی

Narrated Al-Awwam: I asked Muhajid regarding the prostration in Surat Sa`d. He said, "Ibn `Abbas was asked the same question and he said, 'Those are they (the prophets) whom Allah had Guided. So follow their guidance." (6.90) Ibn `Abbas used to perform a prostration (on reading this Sura).

عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ← أَبِي وَائِلٍ ← الْاَعْمَشِ ← جَرِيرٌ ← قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ

حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُلَيْحٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرِ بْنِ لُؤَيٍّ عَنْ عَطَائِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ قَالَ أَنَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ مَتَّی فَقَدْ کَذَبَ

Narrated Al-Awwam: I asked Mujahid regarding the prostration in Surat Sa`d. He said, "I asked Ibn `Abbas, 'What evidence makes you prostrate?' He said, "Don't you recite:--'And among his progeny, David and Solomon..(6.84). Those are they whom Allah had guided. So follow their guidance.' (6.90) So David was the one of those prophets whom Prophet (Muhammad) was ordered to follow. David prostrated, so Allah's Messenger (Muhammad) performed this prostration too.'

خَيْرٌ مِنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ مَتَّی فَقَدْ کَذَبَ ← مَنْ ← النَّبِيِّ ← أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ← عَطَائِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ← هِلَالِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرِ بْنِ لُؤَيٍّ ← أَبِي ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُلَيْحٍ، ← إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ،

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ الْعَوَّامِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ مُجَاهِدًا عَنْ السَّجْدَةِ فِي ص قَالَ سُئِلَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَقَالَ أُولَئِکَ الَّذِينَ هَدَی اللَّهُ فَبِهُدَاهُمْ اقْتَدِهْ وَکَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ يَسْجُدُ فِيهَا

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Last night a demon from the Jinns came to me (or the Prophet said, a similar sentence) to disturb my prayer, but Allah gave me the power to overcome him. I intended to tie him to one of the pillars of the mosque till the morning so that all of you could see him, but then I remembered the Statement of my brother Solomon:--'My Lord! Forgive me and bestow on me a kingdom such as shall not belong to any other after me.' (38.35) The narrator added: Then he (the Prophet) dismissed him, rejected. 'Nor am I one of the pretenders (a person who pretends things which do not exist).' (38.86)

سُئِلَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ ← السَّجْدَةِ فِي ص ← سَأَلْتُ مُجَاهِدًا ← العوام ← شُعْبَةُ، ← غُنْدَرٌ، ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ

حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الطَّنَافِسِيُّ عَنْ الْعَوَّامِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ مُجَاهِدًا عَنْ سَجْدَةٍ فِي ص فَقَالَ سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ مِنْ أَيْنَ سَجَدْتَ فَقَالَ أَوَ مَا تَقْرَأُ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِهِ دَاوُدَ وَسُلَيْمَانَ أُولَئِکَ الَّذِينَ هَدَی اللَّهُ فَبِهُدَاهُمْ اقْتَدِهْ فَکَانَ دَاوُدُ مِمَّنْ أُمِرَ نَبِيُّکُمْ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَقْتَدِيَ بِهِ فَسَجَدَهَا دَاوُدُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام فَسَجَدَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عُجَابٌ عَجِيبٌ الْقِطُّ الصَّحِيفَةُ هُوَ هَا هُنَا صَحِيفَةُ الْحِسَابِ وَقَالَ مُجَاهِدٌ فِي عِزَّةٍ مُعَازِّينَ الْمِلَّةِ الْآخِرَةِ مِلَّةُ قُرَيْشٍ الْاخْتِلَاقُ الْکَذِبُ الْأَسْبَابُ طُرُقُ السَّمَائِ فِي أَبْوَابِهَا قَوْلُهُ جُنْدٌ مَا هُنَالِکَ مَهْزُومٌ يَعْنِي قُرَيْشًا أُولَئِکَ الْأَحْزَابُ الْقُرُونُ الْمَاضِيَةُ فَوَاقٍ رُجُوعٍ قِطَّنَا عَذَابَنَا اتَّخَذْنَاهُمْ سُخْرِيًّا أَحَطْنَا بِهِمْ أَتْرَابٌ أَمْثَالٌ وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ الْأَيْدُ الْقُوَّةُ فِي الْعِبَادَةِ الْأَبْصَارُ الْبَصَرُ فِي أَمْرِ اللَّهِ حُبَّ الْخَيْرِ عَنْ ذِکْرِ رَبِّي مِنْ ذِکْرِ طَفِقَ مَسْحًا يَمْسَحُ أَعْرَافَ الْخَيْلِ وَعَرَاقِيبَهَا الْأَصْفَادِ الْوَثَاقِ

Narrated Masruq: We came upon `Abdullah bin Mas`ud and he said "O people! If somebody knows something, he can say it, but if he does not know it, he should say, "Allah knows better,' for it is a sign of having knowledge to say about something which one does not know, 'Allah knows better.' Allah said to His Prophet: 'Say (O Muhammad ! ) No wage do I ask of You for this (Qur'an) nor am I one of the pretenders (a person who pretends things which do not exist).' (38.86) Now I will tell you about Ad- Dukhan (the smoke), Allah's Messenger invited the Quraish to embrace Islam, but they delayed their response. So he said, "O Allah! Help me against them by sending on them seven years of famine similar to the seven years of famine of Joseph." So the famine year overtook them and everything was destroyed till they ate dead animals and skins. People started imagining to see smoke between them and the sky because of severe hunger. Allah said: 'Then watch you for the Day that the sky will bring forth a kind of smoke plainly visible, covering the people. . . This is painful torment.' (44.10-11) (So they invoked Allah) "Our Lord! Remove the punishment from us really we are believers." How can there be an (effectual) reminder for them when an Apostle, explaining things clearly, has already come to them? Then they had turned away from him and said: 'One taught (by a human being), a madman?' 'We shall indeed remove punishment for a while, but truly, you will revert (to disbelief).' (44.12-15) Will the punishment be removed on the Day of Resurrection?" `Abdullah added, "The punishment was removed from them for a while but they reverted to disbelief, so Allah destroyed them on the Day of Badr. Allah said: 'The day We shall seize you with a mighty grasp. We will indeed (then) exact retribution." (44.16)

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ عِفْرِيتًا مِنْ الْجِنِّ تَفَلَّتَ عَلَيَّ الْبَارِحَةَ أَوْ کَلِمَةً نَحْوَهَا لِيَقْطَعَ عَلَيَّ الصَّلَاةَ فَأَمْکَنَنِي اللَّهُ مِنْهُ وَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَرْبِطَهُ إِلَی سَارِيَةٍ مِنْ سَوَارِي الْمَسْجِدِ حَتَّی تُصْبِحُوا وَتَنْظُرُوا إِلَيْهِ کُلُّکُمْ فَذَکَرْتُ قَوْلَ أَخِي سُلَيْمَانَ رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مُلْکًا لَا يَنْبَغِي لِأَحَدٍ مِنْ بَعْدِي قَالَ رَوْحٌ فَرَدَّهُ خَاسِئًا

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: Some pagans who committed murders in great number and committed illegal sexual intercourse excessively, came to Muhammad and said, "O Muhammad! Whatever you say and invite people to, is good: but we wish if you could inform us whether we can make an expiration for our (past evil) deeds." So the Divine Verses came: 'Those who invoke not with Allah any other god, not kill such life as Allah has forbidden except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse.' (25.68) And there was also revealed:-- 'Say: O My slaves who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah.' (39.53)

أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ← مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ← شُعْبَةُ، ← رَوْحٌ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ← إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ،

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَی عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ قَالَ دَخَلْنَا عَلَی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ مَنْ عَلِمَ شَيْئًا فَلْيَقُلْ بِهِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَعْلَمْ فَلْيَقُلْ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ فَإِنَّ مِنْ الْعِلْمِ أَنْ يَقُولَ لِمَا لَا يَعْلَمُ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لِنَبِيِّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قُلْ مَا أَسْأَلُکُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ وَمَا أَنَا مِنْ الْمُتَکَلِّفِينَ وَسَأُحَدِّثُکُمْ عَنْ الدُّخَانِ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَعَا قُرَيْشًا إِلَی الْإِسْلَامِ فَأَبْطَئُوا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَيْهِمْ بِسَبْعٍ کَسَبْعِ يُوسُفَ فَأَخَذَتْهُمْ سَنَةٌ فَحَصَّتْ کُلَّ شَيْئٍ حَتَّی أَکَلُوا الْمَيْتَةَ وَالْجُلُودَ حَتَّی جَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ يَرَی بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ السَّمَائِ دُخَانًا مِنْ الْجُوعِ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَارْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِي السَّمَائُ بِدُخَانٍ مُبِينٍ يَغْشَی النَّاسَ هَذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ قَالَ فَدَعَوْا رَبَّنَا اکْشِفْ عَنَّا الْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ أَنَّی لَهُمْ الذِّکْرَی وَقَدْ جَائَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مُبِينٌ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا مُعَلَّمٌ مَجْنُونٌ إِنَّا کَاشِفُو الْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا إِنَّکُمْ عَائِدُونَ أَفَيُکْشَفُ الْعَذَابُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ فَکُشِفَ ثُمَّ عَادُوا فِي کُفْرِهِمْ فَأَخَذَهُمْ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَی يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ الْبَطْشَةَ الْکُبْرَی إِنَّا مُنْتَقِمُونَ

Narrated `Abdullah: A (Jewish) Rabbi came to Allah's Messenger and he said, "O Muhammad! We learn that Allah will put all the heavens on one finger, and the earths on one finger, and the trees on one finger, and the water and the dust on one finger, and all the other created beings on one finger. Then He will say, 'I am the King.' Thereupon the Prophet smiled so that his pre-molar teeth became visible, and that was the confirmation of the Rabbi. Then Allah's Messenger recited: 'No just estimate have they made of Allah such as due to Him.' (39.67)

دَخَلْنَا عَلَی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ← مَسْرُوقٍ ← أَبِي الضُّحَى، ← الْاَعْمَشِ ← جَرِيرٌ ← قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ

حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَی أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ أَنَّ ابْنَ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَهُمْ قَالَ يَعْلَی إِنَّ سَعِيدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ نَاسًا مِنْ أَهْلِ الشِّرْکِ کَانُوا قَدْ قَتَلُوا وَأَکْثَرُوا وَزَنَوْا وَأَکْثَرُوا فَأَتَوْا مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالُوا إِنَّ الَّذِي تَقُولُ وَتَدْعُو إِلَيْهِ لَحَسَنٌ لَوْ تُخْبِرُنَا أَنَّ لِمَا عَمِلْنَا کَفَّارَةً فَنَزَلَ وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَدْعُونَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ وَلَا يَقْتُلُونَ النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَلَا يَزْنُونَ وَنَزَلَتْ قُلْ يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَی أَنْفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا مِنْ رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ

Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah's Messenger saying, "Allah will hold the whole earth, and roll all the heavens up in His Right Hand, and then He will say, 'I am the King; where are the kings of the earth?"'
