حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي مُلَيْکَةَ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ أَخْبَرَهُمْ أَنَّهُ قَدِمَ رَکْبٌ مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ عَلَی النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أَبُو بَکْرٍ أَمِّرْ الْقَعْقَاعَ بْنَ مَعْبَدٍ وَقَالَ عُمَرُ بَلْ أَمِّرْ الْأَقْرَعَ بْنَ حَابِسٍ فَقَالَ أَبُو بَکْرٍ مَا أَرَدْتَ إِلَی أَوْ إِلَّا خِلَافِي فَقَالَ عُمَرُ مَا أَرَدْتُ خِلَافَکَ فَتَمَارَيَا حَتَّی ارْتَفَعَتْ أَصْوَاتُهُمَا فَنَزَلَ فِي ذَلِکَ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تُقَدِّمُوا بَيْنَ يَدَيْ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ حَتَّی انْقَضَتْ الْآيَةُ

Narrated Abu Huraira: (that the Prophet said) "It will be said to the Hell, 'Are you filled?' It will say, 'Are there any more (to come)?' On that Allah will put His Foot on it, and it will say 'Qati! Qati! (Enough! Enough!).

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ حَدَّثَنَا حَرَمِيُّ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يُلْقَی فِي النَّارِ وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِنْ مَزِيدٍ حَتَّی يَضَعَ قَدَمَهُ فَتَقُولُ قَطْ قَطْ

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Paradise and the Fire (Hell) argued, and the Fire (Hell) said, "I have been given the privilege of receiving the arrogant and the tyrants.' Paradise said, 'What is the matter with me? Why do only the weak and the humble among the people enter me?' On that, Allah said to Paradise. 'You are My Mercy which I bestow on whoever I wish of my servants.' Then Allah said to the (Hell) Fire, 'You are my (means of) punishment by which I punish whoever I wish of my slaves. And each of you will have its fill.' As for the Fire (Hell), it will not be filled till Allah puts His Foot over it whereupon it will say, 'Qati! Qati!' At that time it will be filled, and its different parts will come closer to each other; and Allah will not wrong any of His created beings. As regards Paradise, Allah will create a new creation to fill it with."

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَی الْقَطَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سُفْيَانَ الْحِمْيَرِيُّ سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَحْيَی بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَفَعَهُ وَأَکْثَرُ مَا کَانَ يُوقِفُهُ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ يُقَالُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلْ امْتَلَأْتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِنْ مَزِيدٍ فَيَضَعُ الرَّبُّ تَبَارَکَ وَتَعَالَی قَدَمَهُ عَلَيْهَا فَتَقُولُ قَطْ قَطْ

Narrated Jarir bin `Abdullah: We were in the company of the Prophet on a fourteenth night (of the lunar month), and he looked at the (full) moon and said, "You will see your Lord as you see this moon, and you will have no trouble in looking at Him. So, whoever can, should not miss the offering of prayers before sunrise (Fajr prayer) and before sunset (`Asr prayer)." Then the Prophet recited: 'And celebrate the praises of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before (its) setting.' (50.39)

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ هَمَّامٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَحَاجَّتْ الْجَنَّةُ وَالنَّارُ فَقَالَتْ النَّارُ أُوثِرْتُ بِالْمُتَکَبِّرِينَ وَالْمُتَجَبِّرِينَ وَقَالَتْ الْجَنَّةُ مَا لِي لَا يَدْخُلُنِي إِلَّا ضُعَفَائُ النَّاسِ وَسَقَطُهُمْ قَالَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَکَ وَتَعَالَی لِلْجَنَّةِ أَنْتِ رَحْمَتِي أَرْحَمُ بِکِ مَنْ أَشَائُ مِنْ عِبَادِي وَقَالَ لِلنَّارِ إِنَّمَا أَنْتِ عَذَابِي أُعَذِّبُ بِکِ مَنْ أَشَائُ مِنْ عِبَادِي وَلِکُلِّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْهُمَا مِلْؤُهَا فَأَمَّا النَّارُ فَلَا تَمْتَلِئُ حَتَّی يَضَعَ رِجْلَهُ فَتَقُولُ قَطْ قَطْ فَهُنَالِکَ تَمْتَلِئُ وَيُزْوَی بَعْضُهَا إِلَی بَعْضٍ وَلَا يَظْلِمُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ أَحَدًا وَأَمَّا الْجَنَّةُ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يُنْشِئُ لَهَا خَلْقًا

Narrated Mujahid: Ibn `Abbas said, "Allah ordered His Prophet to celebrate Allah's praises after all prayers." He refers to His Statement: 'After the prayers.' (50.40)

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ جَرِيرٍ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ کُنَّا جُلُوسًا لَيْلَةً مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَنَظَرَ إِلَی الْقَمَرِ لَيْلَةَ أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ فَقَالَ إِنَّکُمْ سَتَرَوْنَ رَبَّکُمْ کَمَا تَرَوْنَ هَذَا لَا تُضَامُونَ فِي رُؤْيَتِهِ فَإِنْ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ لَا تُغْلَبُوا عَلَی صَلَاةٍ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا فَافْعَلُوا ثُمَّ قَرَأَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّکَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ الْغُرُوبِ

Narrated Um Salama: I complained to Allah's Messenger that I was sick, so he said, "Perform the Tawaf (of Ka`ba at Mecca) while riding behind the people (who are performing the Tawaf on foot)." So I performed the Tawaf while Allah's Messenger was offering the prayer by the side of the Ka`ba and was reciting: 'By the Mount (Saini) and by a Decree Inscribed.'

حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ حَدَّثَنَا وَرْقَائُ عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ أَمَرَهُ أَنْ يُسَبِّحَ فِي أَدْبَارِ الصَّلَوَاتِ کُلِّهَا يَعْنِي قَوْلَهُ وَإِدْبَارَ السُّجُودِ

Narrated Jubair bin Mut`im: I heard the Prophet reciting Surat at-Tur in the Maghrib prayer, and when he reached the Verse: 'Were they created by nothing, Or were they themselves the creators, Or did they create the Heavens and the Earth? Nay, but they have no firm belief Or do they own the treasures of Your Lord? Or have they been given the authority to do as they like...' (52.35-37) my heart was about to fly (when I realized this firm argument).

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِکٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ شَکَوْتُ إِلَی رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنِّي أَشْتَکِي فَقَالَ طُوفِي مِنْ وَرَائِ النَّاسِ وَأَنْتِ رَاکِبَةٌ فَطُفْتُ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي إِلَی جَنْبِ الْبَيْتِ يَقْرَأُ بِالطُّورِ وَکِتَابٍ مَسْطُورٍ

Narrated Masruq: I said to `Aisha, "O Mother! Did Prophet Muhammad see his Lord?" Aisha said, "What you have said makes my hair stand on end ! Know that if somebody tells you one of the following three things, he is a liar: Whoever tells you that Muhammad saw his Lord, is a liar." Then Aisha recited the Verse: 'No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision. He is the Most Courteous Well-Acquainted with all things.' (6.103) 'It is not fitting for a human being that Allah should speak to him except by inspiration or from behind a veil.' (42.51) `Aisha further said, "And whoever tells you that the Prophet knows what is going to happen tomorrow, is a liar." She then recited: 'No soul can know what it will earn tomorrow.' (31.34) She added: "And whoever tell you that he concealed (some of Allah's orders), is a liar." Then she recited: 'O Apostle! Proclaim (the Message) which has been sent down to you from your Lord..' (5.67) `Aisha added. "But the Prophet saw Gabriel in his true form twice."

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثُونِي عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ بِالطُّورِ فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ أَمْ خُلِقُوا مِنْ غَيْرِ شَيْئٍ أَمْ هُمْ الْخَالِقُونَ أَمْ خَلَقُوا السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بَلْ لَا يُوقِنُونَ أَمْ عِنْدَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَبِّکَ أَمْ هُمْ الْمُسَيْطِرُونَ قَالَ کَادَ قَلْبِي أَنْ يَطِيرَ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ فَأَمَّا أَنَا فَإِنَّمَا سَمِعْتُ الزُّهْرِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ بِالطُّورِ وَلَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ زَادَ الَّذِي قَالُوا لِي

Narrated `Abdullah: Regarding the Verses: 'And was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or (even) nearer; So did (Allah) convey the Inspiration to His slave (Gabriel) and then he Gabriel) conveyed (that to Muhammad...' (53.9-10) Ibn Mas`ud narrated to us that the Prophet had seen Gabriel with six hundred wings.

حَدَّثَنَي يَحْيَی حَدَّثَنَا وَکِيعٌ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ عَامِرٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا يَا أُمَّتَاهْ هَلْ رَأَی مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَبَّهُ فَقَالَتْ لَقَدْ قَفَّ شَعَرِي مِمَّا قُلْتَ أَيْنَ أَنْتَ مِنْ ثَلَاثٍ مَنْ حَدَّثَکَهُنَّ فَقَدْ کَذَبَ مَنْ حَدَّثَکَ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَی رَبَّهُ فَقَدْ کَذَبَ ثُمَّ قَرَأَتْ لَا تُدْرِکُهُ الْأَبْصَارُ وَهُوَ يُدْرِکُ الْأَبْصَارَ وَهُوَ اللَّطِيفُ الْخَبِيرُ وَمَا کَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَنْ يُکَلِّمَهُ اللَّهُ إِلَّا وَحْيًا أَوْ مِنْ وَرَائِ حِجَابٍ وَمَنْ حَدَّثَکَ أَنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي غَدٍ فَقَدْ کَذَبَ ثُمَّ قَرَأَتْ وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ مَاذَا تَکْسِبُ غَدًا وَمَنْ حَدَّثَکَ أَنَّهُ کَتَمَ فَقَدْ کَذَبَ ثُمَّ قَرَأَتْ يَا أَيُّهَا الرَّسُولُ بَلِّغْ مَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْکَ مِنْ رَبِّکَ الْآيَةَ وَلَکِنَّهُ رَأَی جِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام فِي صُورَتِهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ

Narrated Ash-Shaibani: I asked Zirr about the Statement of Allah: 'And was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or (even) nearer. So did Allah convey the Inspiration to His slave (Gabriel) and then he (Gabriel) conveyed that to Muhammad.' (53.10) He said, "Abdullah (bin Mas`ud) informed us that Muhammad had seen Gabriel with six hundred wings."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ حَدَّثَنَا الشَّيْبَانِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ زِرًّا عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فَکَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَی فَأَوْحَی إِلَی عَبْدِهِ مَا أَوْحَی قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ أَنَّهُ رَأَی جِبْرِيلَ لَهُ سِتُّ مِائَةِ جَنَاحٍ

Narrated `Abdullah: (regarding the revelation) Truly he (Muhammad) did see of the signs of his Lord; the Greatest!' (53.18) The Prophet saw a green screen covering the horizon.

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: (regarding His Statement about the Lat and the `Uzza: Lat was originally a man who used to mix Sawiq for the pilgrim.

عَبْدُ اللَّهِ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَأَی جِبْرِيلَ لَهُ سِتُّ مِائَةِ جَنَاحٍ ← قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَی فَکَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَی فَأَوْحَی إِلَی عَبْدِهِ مَا أَوْحَی ← سَأَلْتُ زِرًّا ← الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ← زَائِدَۃَ، ← طَلْقُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ،

حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ لَقَدْ رَأَی مِنْ آيَاتِ رَبِّهِ الْکُبْرَی قَالَ رَأَی رَفْرَفًا أَخْضَرَ قَدْ سَدَّ الْأُفُقَ

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger said, "Whomever takes an oath in which he mentions Lat and `Uzza (forgetfully), should say: None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and whoever says to his companion. 'Come along, let us gamble must give alms (as an expiation).
