حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ رَبِّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عَمْرَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَانَ يَقُولُ لِلْمَرِيضِ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ تُرْبَةُ أَرْضِنَا بِرِيقَةِ بَعْضِنَا يُشْفَی سَقِيمُنَا

Narrated `Aisha: Allah's Apostle used to read in his Ruqya, "In the Name of Allah" The earth of our land and the saliva of some of us cure our patient with the permission of our Lord." with a slight shower of saliva) while treating with a Ruqya.

Narrated Abu Qatada: I heard the Prophet saying, "A good dream is from Allah, and a bad dream is from Satan. So if anyone of you sees (in a dream) something he dislikes, when he gets up he should blow thrice (on his left side) and seek refuge with Allah from its evil for then it will not harm him."

حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ عَنْ يَحْيَی بْنِ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا قَتَادَةَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ الرُّؤْيَا مِنْ اللَّهِ وَالْحُلْمُ مِنْ الشَّيْطَانِ فَإِذَا رَأَی أَحَدُکُمْ شَيْئًا يَکْرَهُهُ فَلْيَنْفِثْ حِينَ يَسْتَيْقِظُ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ وَيَتَعَوَّذْ مِنْ شَرِّهَا فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَضُرُّهُ وَقَالَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ وَإِنْ کُنْتُ لَأَرَی الرُّؤْيَا أَثْقَلَ عَلَيَّ مِنْ الْجَبَلِ فَمَا هُوَ إِلَّا أَنْ سَمِعْتُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ فَمَا أُبَالِيهَا

Narrated `Aisha: Whenever Allah's Apostle went to bed, he used to recite Surat-al-Ikhlas, Surat-al-Falaq and Surat-an- Nas and then blow on his palms and pass them over his face and those parts of his body that his hands could reach. And when he fell ill, he used to order me to do like that for him.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأُوَيْسِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ کَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَوَی إِلَی فِرَاشِهِ نَفَثَ فِي کَفَّيْهِ بِقُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ وَبِالْمُعَوِّذَتَيْنِ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ يَمْسَحُ بِهِمَا وَجْهَهُ وَمَا بَلَغَتْ يَدَاهُ مِنْ جَسَدِهِ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَلَمَّا اشْتَکَی کَانَ يَأْمُرُنِي أَنْ أَفْعَلَ ذَلِکَ بِهِ قَالَ يُونُسُ کُنْتُ أَرَی ابْنَ شِهَابٍ يَصْنَعُ ذَلِکَ إِذَا أَتَی إِلَی فِرَاشِهِ

Narrated Abu Sa`id: A group of the companions of Allah's Apostle proceeded on a journey till they dismounted near one of the Arab tribes and requested them to entertain them as their guests, but they (the tribe people) refused to entertain them. Then the chief of that tribe was bitten by a snake (or stung by a scorpion) and he was given all sorts of treatment, but all in vain. Some of them said, "Will you go to the group (those travelers) who have dismounted near you and see if one of them has something useful?" They came to them and said, "O the group! Our leader has been bitten by a snake (or stung by a scorpion) and we have treated him with everything but nothing benefited him Has anyone of you anything useful?" One of them replied, "Yes, by Allah, I know how to treat with a Ruqya. But. by Allah, we wanted you to receive us as your guests but you refused. I will not treat your patient with a Ruqya till you fix for us something as wages." Consequently they agreed to give those travellers a flock of sheep. The man went with them (the people of the tribe) and started spitting (on the bite) and reciting Surat-al-Fatiha till the patient was healed and started walking as if he had not been sick. When the tribe people paid them their wages they had agreed upon, some of them (the Prophet's companions) said, "Distribute (the sheep)." But the one who treated with the Ruqya said, "Do not do that till we go to Allah's Apostle and mention to him what has happened, and see what he will order us." So they came to Allah's Apostle and mentioned the story to him and he said, "How do you know that Surat-al-Fatiha is a Ruqya? You have done the right thing. Divide (what you have got) and assign for me a share with you."

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِکٌ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَی النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ السَّاعِي عَلَی الْأَرْمَلَةِ وَالْمِسْکِينِ کَالْمُجَاهِدِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَوْ کَالَّذِي يَصُومُ النَّهَارَ وَيَقُومُ اللَّيْلَ

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "The one who looks after and works for a widow and for a poor person is like a warrior fighting for Allah's Cause." (The narrator Al-Qa'nabi is not sure whether he also said "Like the one who prays all the night without slackness and fasts continuously and never breaks his fast.")

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِکٌ عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْغَيْثِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ السَّاعِي عَلَی الْأَرْمَلَةِ وَالْمِسْکِينِ کَالْمُجَاهِدِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَأَحْسِبُهُ قَالَ يَشُکُّ الْقَعْنَبِيُّ کَالْقَائِمِ لَا يَفْتُرُ وَکَالصَّائِمِ لَا يُفْطِرُ

Narrated Abu Sulaiman and Malik bin Huwairith: We came to the Prophet and we were (a few) young men of approximately equal age and stayed with him for twenty nights. Then he thought that we were anxious for our families, and he asked us whom we had left behind to look after our families, and we told him. He was kindhearted and merciful, so he said, "Return to your families and teach them (religious knowledge) and order them (to do good deeds) and offer your prayers in the way you saw me offering my prayers, and when the stated time for the prayer becomes due, then one of you should pronounce its call (i.e. the Adhan), and the eldest of you should lead you in prayer.

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ مَالِکِ بْنِ الْحُوَيْرِثِ قَالَ أَتَيْنَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَحْنُ شَبَبَةٌ مُتَقَارِبُونَ فَأَقَمْنَا عِنْدَهُ عِشْرِينَ لَيْلَةً فَظَنَّ أَنَّا اشْتَقْنَا أَهْلَنَا وَسَأَلَنَا عَمَّنْ تَرَکْنَا فِي أَهْلِنَا فَأَخْبَرْنَاهُ وَکَانَ رَفِيقًا رَحِيمًا فَقَالَ ارْجِعُوا إِلَی أَهْلِيکُمْ فَعَلِّمُوهُمْ وَمُرُوهُمْ وَصَلُّوا کَمَا رَأَيْتُمُونِي أُصَلِّي وَإِذَا حَضَرَتْ الصَّلَاةُ فَلْيُؤَذِّنْ لَکُمْ أَحَدُکُمْ ثُمَّ لِيَؤُمَّکُمْ أَکْبَرُکُمْ

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "While a man was walking on a road. he became very thirsty. Then he came across a well, got down into it, drank (of its water) and then came out. Meanwhile he saw a dog panting and licking mud because of excessive thirst. The man said to himself "This dog is suffering from the same state of thirst as I did." So he went down the well (again) and filled his shoe (with water) and held it in his mouth and watered the dog. Allah thanked him for that deed and forgave him." The people asked, "O Allah's Apostle! Is there a reward for us in serving the animals?" He said, "(Yes) There is a reward for serving any animate (living being) ."

وَكَانَ رَفِيقًا رَحِيمًا، ← اشْتَقْنَا أَهْلَنَا وَسَأَلَنَا عَمَّنْ تَرَکْنَا فِي أَهْلِنَا ← أَتَيْنَا النَّبِيَّ وَنَحْنُ شَبَبَةٌ مُتَقَارِبُونَ، فَأَقَمْنَا عِنْدَهُ عِشْرِينَ لَيْلَةً، فَظَنَّ ← أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْحُوَيْرِثِ ← أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، ← أَيُّوبَ، ← إِسْمَاعِيلُ ← مُسَدَّدٌ

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِکٌ عَنْ سُمَيٍّ مَوْلَی أَبِي بَکْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ السَّمَّانِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ يَمْشِي بِطَرِيقٍ اشْتَدَّ عَلَيْهِ الْعَطَشُ فَوَجَدَ بِئْرًا فَنَزَلَ فِيهَا فَشَرِبَ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَإِذَا کَلْبٌ يَلْهَثُ يَأْکُلُ الثَّرَی مِنْ الْعَطَشِ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ لَقَدْ بَلَغَ هَذَا الْکَلْبَ مِنْ الْعَطَشِ مِثْلُ الَّذِي کَانَ بَلَغَ بِي فَنَزَلَ الْبِئْرَ فَمَلَأَ خُفَّهُ ثُمَّ أَمْسَکَهُ بِفِيهِ فَسَقَی الْکَلْبَ فَشَکَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ فَغَفَرَ لَهُ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَإِنَّ لَنَا فِي الْبَهَائِمِ أَجْرًا فَقَالَ نَعَمْ فِي کُلِّ ذَاتِ کَبِدٍ رَطْبَةٍ أَجْرٌ

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle stood up for the prayer and we too stood up along with him. Then a bedouin shouted while offering prayer. "O Allah! Bestow Your Mercy on me and Muhammad only and do not bestow it on anybody else along with us." When the Prophet had finished his prayer with Taslim, he said to the Bedouin, "You have limited (narrowed) a very vast (thing)," meaning Allah's Mercy.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي صَلَاةٍ وَقُمْنَا مَعَهُ فَقَالَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْنِي وَمُحَمَّدًا وَلَا تَرْحَمْ مَعَنَا أَحَدًا فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِلْأَعْرَابِيِّ لَقَدْ حَجَّرْتَ وَاسِعًا يُرِيدُ رَحْمَةَ اللَّهِ

Narrated An-Nu`man bin Bashir: Allah's Apostle said, "You see the believers as regards their being merciful among themselves and showing love among themselves and being kind, resembling one body, so that, if any part of the body is not well then the whole body shares the sleeplessness (insomnia) and fever with it."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا زَکَرِيَّائُ عَنْ عَامِرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَرَی الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي تَرَاحُمِهِمْ وَتَوَادِّهِمْ وَتَعَاطُفِهِمْ کَمَثَلِ الْجَسَدِ إِذَا اشْتَکَی عُضْوًا تَدَاعَی لَهُ سَائِرُ جَسَدِهِ بِالسَّهَرِ وَالْحُمَّی

Narrated Anas bin Malik: The Prophet said, "If any Muslim plants any plant and a human being or an animal eats of it, he will be rewarded as if he had given that much in charity."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ غَرَسَ غَرْسًا فَأَکَلَ مِنْهُ إِنْسَانٌ أَوْ دَابَّةٌ إِلَّا کَانَ لَهُ بِهِ صَدَقَةٌ

Narrated Jarir bin `Abdullah: The Prophet said, "He who is not merciful to others, will not be treated mercifully.

Narrated `Aisha: The Prophet said "Gabriel continued to recommend me about treating the neighbors Kindly and politely so much so that I thought he would order me to make them as my heirs.
