و حَدَّثَنَاه عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَی أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُا کَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِثْلِهِ

Jabir (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) flung pebbles at jamra on the Day of Nahr after sunrise, and after that (i. e. on the 11th, 12th and 13th of Dhu'l-Hijja when the sun had declined.

جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُا کَانَ النَّبِيُّ بِمِثْلِهِ ← أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّهُ ← ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، ← عِيسَى؛ ← عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ ← و،

و حَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْقِلٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْجَزَرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الِاسْتِجْمَارُ تَوٌّ وَرَمْيُ الْجِمَارِ تَوٌّ وَالسَّعْيُ بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ تَوٌّ وَالطَّوَافُ تَوٌّ وَإِذَا اسْتَجْمَرَ أَحَدُکُمْ فَلْيَسْتَجْمِرْ بِتَوٍّ

Jabir b. Abdullah reported a hadith like this from Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ).

و حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ يَحْيَی وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ قَالَا أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ ح و حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ نَافِعٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ قَالَ حَلَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَحَلَقَ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ وَقَصَّرَ بَعْضُهُمْ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ رَحِمَ اللَّهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ مَرَّةً أَوْ مَرَّتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ

Jabir (b. Abdullab) (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: Odd number of stones are to be used for cleaning (the private parts after answering the call of nature), and casting of pebbles at the Jamras is to be done by odd numbers (seven), and (the number) of circuits between al-Safa' and al-Marwa is also odd (seven), and the number of circuits (around the Ka'ba) is also odd (seven). Whenever any one of you is required to use stones (for cleaning the private parts) he should use odd number of stones (three, five or seven).

عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ← حَلَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَحَلَقَ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ وَقَصَّرَ بَعْضُهُمْ ← نَافِعٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ ← لَيْثٌ، ← قُتَيْبَةُ، ← و، ← اللَّيْثُ ← يَحْيَی بْنُ يَحْيَی وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ← و،

و حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ يَحْيَی قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَی مَالِکٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ

Abdullah reported that Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) got his head shaved (after slaughtering the sacrificial animal on the 10th of Dhu'l-Hijja), and so did a group of Companions, while some of them got their hair clipped. Abdullah said: Allah's Messenger (may peace'be upon him) observed once or twice: May Allah have mercy upon those who get their heads shaved. And he also said: Upon those too who got their hair clipped.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَقَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ رَحِمَ اللَّهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ رَحِمَ اللَّهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ رَحِمَ اللَّهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ

Abdullah b. Umar (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as having observed: O Allah, have mercy upon those who get their heads shaved. They (the Companions) said: Messenger of Allah, (what about those) who have got their hair clipped? He said: O Allah, have mercy upon those who have got their heads shaved. They (again) said: Allah's Messenger, (what about those) who have got their hair clipped? Thereupon he said: (O Allah, have mercy upon those) who have got their hair clipped.

ابْنِ عُمَرَ ← نَافِعٍ ← عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ← أَبِي ← ابْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، ← مُسْلِمِ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ ← أَبُو إِسْحَقَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ

و حَدَّثَنَاه ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّی حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ وَقَالَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ فَلَمَّا کَانَتْ الرَّابِعَةُ قَالَ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ

Ibn 'Umar reported that Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said: May Allah have mercy upon those who have got their heads shaved. They said: Messenger of Allah, (what about) those who got their hair clipped? He said: May Allah have mercy upon those who have got their heads shaved. They said: Messenger of Allah, (what about those who have got their hair clipped)? He said: May Allah have mercy upon those who got their hair shaved. They said: Messenger of Allah, (what about) those who got their hair clipped? He said: (O Allah, have mercy upon) those who got their hair clipped.

"وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ". ← عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ وَقَالَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ فَلَمَّا کَانَتْ الرَّابِعَةُ ← عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، ← ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّی ← و،

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ وَأَبُو کُرَيْبٍ جَمِيعًا عَنْ ابْنِ فُضَيْلٍ قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَارَةُ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَلِلْمُقَصِّرِينَ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَلِلْمُقَصِّرِينَ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَلِلْمُقَصِّرِينَ قَالَ وَلِلْمُقَصِّرِينَ

Ubaidullah reported this hadith with the same chain of transmitters and (it is said) that it was on the fourth turn that he (the Holy Prophet) said: (May Allah have mercy upon) those who got their hair clipped.

أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ← أَبِي زُرْعَةَ ← عُمَارَةَ، ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ← زُهَيْرٍ ← ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، ← أَبُو کُرَيْبٍ جَمِيعًا ← ابْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، ← زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ← أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ،

و حَدَّثَنِي أُمَيَّةُ بْنُ بِسْطَامَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ عَنْ الْعَلَائِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَعْنَی حَدِيثِ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as having said: O Allah, grant pardon to those who got their heads shaved They (Companions of the Holy Prophet) said: Messenger of Allah, (what about those) who get their hair cut? He said: O Allah, grant pardon to those who get their heads shaved. They said: Messenger of Allah, (what about those) who got their hair clipped? He said: O Allah, grant pardon to those who get their heads shaved. They said: Messenger of Allah, (what about those) who get their hair clipped? He said: O Allah, grant pardon to those who get their heads shaved. They said: (What about those) who get their hair clipped? He said: (O Allah, grant pardon to) those who get their hair clipped.

أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ← النَّبِيِّ بِمَعْنَی حَدِيثِ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ ← أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ← أَبِيهِ ← الْعَلَائُ ← رَوْحٌ، ← يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ← أُمَيَّةُ بْنُ بِسْطَامٍ ← و،

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا وَکِيعٌ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ يَحْيَی بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ دَعَا لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ ثَلَاثًا وَلِلْمُقَصِّرِينَ مَرَّةً وَلَمْ يَقُلْ وَکِيعٌ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ

A hadith like this is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira.

جَدَّتِهِ أَنَّهَا ← يَحْيَى بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ ← شُعْبَةُ، ← وَكِيعٌ وَأَبُو دَاوُد الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ← أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ،

و حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْقَارِيُّ ح و حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِسْمَعِيلَ کِلَاهُمَا عَنْ مُوسَی بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَلَقَ رَأْسَهُ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ

Yahya b. al-Husain reported on the authority of his grandfather that Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) invoked blessing on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage three times for those who got their heads shaved and once for those who got their hair clipped. In the narration transmitted by Waki' there is no mention of the Farewell Pilgrimage.

ابْنِ عُمَرَ ← نَافِعٍ ← مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، ← حَاتِمٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِسْمَعِيلَ کِلَاهُمَا ← قُتَيْبَةُ، ← و، ← يَعْقُوبُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْقَارِيُّ ← قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ← و،

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ يَحْيَی أَخْبَرَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَی مِنًی فَأَتَی الْجَمْرَةَ فَرَمَاهَا ثُمَّ أَتَی مَنْزِلَهُ بِمِنًی وَنَحَرَ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِلْحَلَّاقِ خُذْ وَأَشَارَ إِلَی جَانِبِهِ الْأَيْمَنِ ثُمَّ الْأَيْسَرِ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ يُعْطِيهِ النَّاسَ

Ibn Umar reported that Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) got his head shaved on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage.

اَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ، ← مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ← هِشَامٍ ← حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، ← يَحْيَی بْنُ يَحْيَی

و حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ وَأَبُو کُرَيْبٍ قَالُوا أَخْبَرَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ عَنْ هِشَامٍ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ أَمَّا أَبُو بَکْرٍ فَقَالَ فِي رِوَايَتِهِ لِلْحَلَّاقِ هَا وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَی الْجَانِبِ الْأَيْمَنِ هَکَذَا فَقَسَمَ شَعَرَهُ بَيْنَ مَنْ يَلِيهِ قَالَ ثُمَّ أَشَارَ إِلَی الْحَلَّاقِ وَإِلَی الْجَانِبِ الْأَيْسَرِ فَحَلَقَهُ فَأَعْطَاهُ أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ وَأَمَّا فِي رِوَايَةِ أَبِي کُرَيْبٍ قَالَ فَبَدَأَ بِالشِّقِّ الْأَيْمَنِ فَوَزَّعَهُ الشَّعَرَةَ وَالشَّعَرَتَيْنِ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ ثُمَّ قَالَ بِالْأَيْسَرِ فَصَنَعَ بِهِ مِثْلَ ذَلِکَ ثُمَّ قَالَ هَا هُنَا أَبُو طَلْحَةَ فَدَفَعَهُ إِلَی أَبِي طَلْحَةَ

Anas b. Malik (Allah be pleased wish him) reported that Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) came to Mina; he went to the Jamra and threw pebbles at it, after which he went to his lodging in Mina, and sacrificed the animal. He then called for a barber and, turning his right side to him, let him shave him; after which he tiimed his left side. He then gave (these hair) to the people.
