حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ بِالْإِسْنَادَيْنِ جَمِيعًا مِثْلَهُ وَزَادَ فِي حَدِيثِ الْحَکَمِ فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَأْخُذُونَ مِنْ فَضْلِ وَضُوئِهِ

Abu Juhaifa reported: The Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) went at noon towards al-Batha', he performed ablution, and said two rak'ahs of the Zuhr prayer and two of the 'Asr prayer, and there was a spear in front of him. Shu'ba said and Aun made this addition to it on the authority of his father Abu Juhaifa: And the woman and the donkey passed behind it.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ يَحْيَی قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَی مَالِکٍ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ أَقْبَلْتُ رَاکِبًا عَلَی أَتَانٍ وَأَنَا يَوْمَئِذٍ قَدْ نَاهَزْتُ الِاحْتِلَامَ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ بِمِنًی فَمَرَرْتُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ الصَّفِّ فَنَزَلْتُ فَأَرْسَلْتُ الْأَتَانَ تَرْتَعُ وَدَخَلْتُ فِي الصَّفِّ فَلَمْ يُنْکِرْ ذَلِکَ عَلَيَّ أَحَدٌ

Shu'ba narrated the same on the basis of two authorities and in the hadith transmitted by Hakam (the words are): The people began to get water that was left out of his (the Prophet's) ablution.

«أَقْبَلْتُ رَاكِبًا عَلَى أَتَانٍ ← ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ← عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ← ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، ← على مالك، ← يَحْيَی بْنُ يَحْيَی

حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَی أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ أَقْبَلَ يَسِيرُ عَلَی حِمَارٍ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَائِمٌ يُصَلِّي بِمِنًی فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ قَالَ فَسَارَ الْحِمَارُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ بَعْضِ الصَّفِّ ثُمَّ نَزَلَ عَنْهُ فَصَفَّ مَعَ النَّاسِ

Ibn 'Abbas reported: I came riding on a she-ass, and I was on the threshold of maturity, and the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) was leading people in prayer at Mina. I passed in front of the row and got down, and sent the she-ass for grazing and joined the row, and nobody made any objection to it.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ يَحْيَی وَعَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ وَإِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ قَالَ وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي بِعَرَفَةَ

Abdullah b. Abbas reported that he came riding on a donkey, and the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) was leading the people in prayer at Mina on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage and (the narrator) reported: The donkey passed in front of the row and then he got down from it And joined the row along with the people.

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ قَالَا أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يَذْکُرْ فِيهِ مِنًی وَلَا عَرَفَةَ وَقَالَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ أَوْ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ

This hadith has been narrated by Ibn 'Uyaina on the authority of al-Zuhri with the same chain of transmitters and he reported: The Apostle of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) was leading prayer at 'Arafa.

فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ أَوْ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ ← الزُّهْرِيِّ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يَذْکُرْ فِيهِ مِنًی وَلَا عَرَفَةَ ← مَعْمَرٌ، ← عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، ← إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ يَحْيَی قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَی مَالِکٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا کَانَ أَحَدُکُمْ يُصَلِّي فَلَا يَدَعْ أَحَدًا يَمُرُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَلْيَدْرَأْهُ مَا اسْتَطَاعَ فَإِنْ أَبَی فَلْيُقَاتِلْهُ فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ شَيْطَانٌ

This hadith has been reported by Ma'mar on the authority of al-Zuhri with the came chain of transmitters, but here no mention has been made of Mina or 'Arafa, and he said: It was in the Farewell Pilgrimage or on the Day of Victory.

حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ هِلَالٍ يَعْنِي حُمَيْدًا قَالَ بَيْنَمَا أَنَا وَصَاحِبٌ لِي نَتَذَاکَرُ حَدِيثًا إِذْ قَالَ أَبُو صَالِحٍ السَّمَّانُ أَنَا أُحَدِّثُکَ مَا سَمِعْتُ مِنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ وَرَأَيْتُ مِنْهُ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا أَنَا مَعَ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ يُصَلِّي يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ إِلَی شَيْئٍ يَسْتُرُهُ مِنْ النَّاسِ إِذْ جَائَ رَجُلٌ شَابٌّ مِنْ بَنِي أَبِي مُعَيْطٍ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَجْتَازَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَدَفَعَ فِي نَحْرِهِ فَنَظَرَ فَلَمْ يَجِدْ مَسَاغًا إِلَّا بَيْنَ يَدَيْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ فَعَادَ فَدَفَعَ فِي نَحْرِهِ أَشَدَّ مِنْ الدَّفْعَةِ الْأُولَی فَمَثَلَ قَائِمًا فَنَالَ مِنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ثُمَّ زَاحَمَ النَّاسَ فَخَرَجَ فَدَخَلَ عَلَی مَرْوَانَ فَشَکَا إِلَيْهِ مَا لَقِيَ قَالَ وَدَخَلَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ عَلَی مَرْوَانَ فَقَالَ لَهُ مَرْوَانُ مَا لَکَ وَلِابْنِ أَخِيکَ جَائَ يَشْکُوکَ فَقَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِذَا صَلَّی أَحَدُکُمْ إِلَی شَيْئٍ يَسْتُرُهُ مِنْ النَّاسِ فَأَرَادَ أَحَدٌ أَنْ يَجْتَازَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَلْيَدْفَعْ فِي نَحْرِهِ فَإِنْ أَبَی فَلْيُقَاتِلْهُ فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ شَيْطَانٌ

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported that the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said: When any one of you prays he should not let anyone pass in front of him (if there is no sutra), and should try to turn him away as far as possible, but if he refuses to go, he should turn him away forcibly for he is a devil.

وَصَاحِبٌ لِي نَتَذَاکَرُ حَدِيثًا ← بَيْنَمَا ← ابْنُ هِلَالٍ يَعْنِي حُمَيْدًا ← سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ← شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخٍ،

حَدَّثَنِي هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَعِيلَ ابْنِ أَبِي فُدَيْکٍ عَنْ الضَّحَّاکِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ صَدَقَةَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا کَانَ أَحَدُکُمْ يُصَلِّي فَلَا يَدَعْ أَحَدًا يَمُرُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَإِنْ أَبَی فَلْيُقَاتِلْهُ فَإِنَّ مَعَهُ الْقَرِينَ

Abu Salih al-Samman reported: I narrate to you what I heard and saw from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri: One day I was with Abu Sa'id and he was saying prayer on Friday turning to a thing which concealed him from the people when a young man from Banu Mu'ait came there and he tried to pass in front of him; he turned him back by striking his chest. He looked about but finding no other way to pass except in front of Abu Sa'id, made a second attempt. He (Abu Sa'id) turned him away by Striking his chest more vigorously than the first stroke. He stood up and had a scuffle with Abu Sa'id. Then the people gathered there He came out and went to Marwan and complained to him what had happened to him. Abu Sa'id too came to Marwan. Marwin said to him: What has happened to you and the son of your brother that he came to complain against you? Abu Sa'id said: I heard from the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) saying: When any one of you prays facing something which conceals him from people and anyone tries to pass in front of him, he should be turned away, but if he refuses, he should be forcibly restrained from it, for he is a devil.

Abdullah b. 'Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said: When any one of you prays, he should not allow anyone to pass before him, and if he refuses, he should be then forcibly resisted, for there is a devil with him.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ يَحْيَی قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَی مَالِکٍ عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ أَنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيَّ أَرْسَلَهُ إِلَی أَبِي جُهَيْمٍ يَسْأَلُهُ مَاذَا سَمِعَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَارِّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ الْمُصَلِّي قَالَ أَبُو جُهَيْمٍ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْمَارُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ الْمُصَلِّي مَاذَا عَلَيْهِ لَکَانَ أَنْ يَقِفَ أَرْبَعِينَ خَيْرًا لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمُرَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ قَالَ أَبُو النَّضْرِ لَا أَدْرِي قَالَ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْمًا أَوْ شَهْرًا أَوْ سَنَةً

This hadith has been narrated by Ibn Umar by another chain of transmitters.

بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ← أَبِي النَّضْرِ ← على مالك، ← يَحْيَی بْنُ يَحْيَی

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ هَاشِمِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ الْعَبْدِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا وَکِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ سَالِمٍ أَبِي النَّضْرِ عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ أَنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيَّ أَرْسَلَ إِلَی أَبِي جُهَيْمٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ مَا سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فَذَکَرَ بِمَعْنَی حَدِيثِ مَالِکٍ

Busr b Sa'id reported that Zaid b Khalid al-Juhani sent him to Abu Juhaim in order to ask him what he had heard from the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) with regard to the passer in front of the worshipper. Abu Juhaim reported that the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said: If anyone who passes in front of a man who is praying knew the responsibility he incurs, he would stand still forty (years) rather than to pass in front of him Abu Nadr said: I do not know whether he said forty days or months or years.

حَدَّثَنِي يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ قَالَ کَانَ بَيْنَ مُصَلَّی رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَبَيْنَ الْجِدَارِ مَمَرُّ الشَّاةِ

This hadith has been narrated from Abu Juhaim Ansari by another chain of transmitters.

«كَانَ بَيْنَ مُصَلَّى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ وَبَيْنَ الْجِدَارِ مَمَرُّ الشَّاةِ» ← سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ، ← أَبِي ← ابْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، ← يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ
