حَدَّثَنَا مُجَاهِدُ بْنُ مُوسَی وَأَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ النَّضْرِ بْنِ أَبِي النَّضْرِ وَهَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ قَالَ أَبُو بَکْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ يَعْنِي هَاشِمَ بْنَ الْقَاسِمِ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ قَالَ کَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا صَلَّی الْغَدَاةَ جَائَ خَدَمُ الْمَدِينَةِ بِآنِيَتِهِمْ فِيهَا الْمَائُ فَمَا يُؤْتَی بِإِنَائٍ إِلَّا غَمَسَ يَدَهُ فِيهَا فَرُبَّمَا جَائُوهُ فِي الْغَدَاةِ الْبَارِدَةِ فَيَغْمِسُ يَدَهُ فِيهَا

Anas b. Malik reported that when Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) had completed his dawn prayer, the servants of Medina came to him with utensils containing water, and no utensil was brought in which he did not dip his hand; and sometime they came in the cold dawn (and he did not feel reluctant in acceding to their request even in the cold weather) and dipped his hand in them.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالْحَلَّاقُ يَحْلِقُهُ وَأَطَافَ بِهِ أَصْحَابُهُ فَمَا يُرِيدُونَ أَنْ تَقَعَ شَعْرَةٌ إِلَّا فِي يَدِ رَجُلٍ

Anas reported: I saw when the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) got his hair cut by the barber, his Companions came round him and they eagerly wanted that no hair should fall but in the hand of a person.

و حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً کَانَ فِي عَقْلِهَا شَيْئٌ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ لِي إِلَيْکَ حَاجَةً فَقَالَ يَا أُمَّ فُلَانٍ انْظُرِي أَيَّ السِّکَکِ شِئْتِ حَتَّی أَقْضِيَ لَکِ حَاجَتَکِ فَخَلَا مَعَهَا فِي بَعْضِ الطُّرُقِ حَتَّی فَرَغَتْ مِنْ حَاجَتِهَا

Anas reported that a woman had a partial derangement in her mind, so she said. Allah's Messenger, I want something from you. He said: Mother of so and so, see on which side of the road you would like (to stand and talk) so that I may do the needful for you. He stood aside with her on the roadside until she got what she needed.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مَالِکِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ فِيمَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِ ح و حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ يَحْيَی قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَی مَالِکٍ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ مَا خُيِّرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ أَمْرَيْنِ إِلَّا أَخَذَ أَيْسَرَهُمَا مَا لَمْ يَکُنْ إِثْمًا فَإِنْ کَانَ إِثْمًا کَانَ أَبْعَدَ النَّاسِ مِنْهُ وَمَا انْتَقَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِنَفْسِهِ إِلَّا أَنْ تُنْتَهَکَ حُرْمَةُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ

A'isha, the wife of Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ), said that whenever he had to choose between two things he adopted the easier one, provided it was nor sin, but if it was any sin he was the one wio was the farthest from it of the people; and Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) never took revenge from anyone because of his personal grievance, unless what Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, had made inviolable had been violated.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو کُرَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ مَا خُيِّرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ أَمْرَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَا أَيْسَرُ مِنْ الْآخَرِ إِلَّا اخْتَارَ أَيْسَرَهُمَا مَا لَمْ يَکُنْ إِثْمًا فَإِنْ کَانَ إِثْمًا کَانَ أَبْعَدَ النَّاسِ مِنْهُ

A'isha reported: Never did Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) make a choice between two things but adopting the easier one as compared to the difficult one, but his choice for the easier one was only in case it did not involve any sin, but if it involved sin he was the one who was the farthest from it amongst the people.

حَدَّثَنَاه أَبُو کُرَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ مَا ضَرَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْئًا قَطُّ بِيَدِهِ وَلَا امْرَأَةً وَلَا خَادِمًا إِلَّا أَنْ يُجَاهِدَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَمَا نِيلَ مِنْهُ شَيْئٌ قَطُّ فَيَنْتَقِمَ مِنْ صَاحِبِهِ إِلَّا أَنْ يُنْتَهَکَ شَيْئٌ مِنْ مَحَارِمِ اللَّهِ فَيَنْتَقِمَ لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ

A'isha reported that Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) never beat anyone with his hand, neither a woman nor a servant, but only, in the case when he had been fighting in the cause of Allah and he never took revenge for anything unless the things made inviolable by Allah were made violable; he then took revenge for Allah, the Exalted and Glorious.

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ حَمَّادِ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ الْقَنَّادُ حَدَّثَنَا أَسْبَاطٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ نَصْرٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ عَنْ سِمَاکٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاةَ الْأُولَی ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلَی أَهْلِهِ وَخَرَجْتُ مَعَهُ فَاسْتَقْبَلَهُ وِلْدَانٌ فَجَعَلَ يَمْسَحُ خَدَّيْ أَحَدِهِمْ وَاحِدًا وَاحِدًا قَالَ وَأَمَّا أَنَا فَمَسَحَ خَدِّي قَالَ فَوَجَدْتُ لِيَدِهِ بَرْدًا أَوْ رِيحًا کَأَنَّمَا أَخْرَجَهَا مِنْ جُؤْنَةِ عَطَّارٍ

Jabir b. Samura reported: I prayed along with Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) the first prayer. He then went to his family and I also went along with him when he met some children (on the way). He began to pat the cheeks of each one of them. He also patted my cheek and I experienced a coolness or a fragrance of his hand as if it had been brought out from the scent bag of a perfumer.

و حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ تَوْبَةَ الْعَنْبَرِيِّ سَمِعَ الشَّعْبِيَّ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَانَ مَعَهُ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فِيهِمْ سَعْدٌ وَأُتُوا بِلَحْمِ ضَبٍّ فَنَادَتْ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ نِسَائِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّهُ لَحْمُ ضَبٍّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کُلُوا فَإِنَّهُ حَلَالٌ وَلَکِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ طَعَامِي

Ibn 'Umar reported that there were some persons with Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) from among his Companions, Sa'd being one of them. There was brought to them the flesh of the lizard when a lady amongst the wives of Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said: It is the flesh of the lizard. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (way peace be upon him) said: Eat, for it is lawful, but it is not my diet.
