أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَکِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِشَامٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شَيْبَانَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدِّثْنِي بِشَيْئٍ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ أَبِيکَ سَمِعَهُ أَبُوکَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْسَ بَيْنَ أَبِيکَ وَبَيْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَحَدٌ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ قَالَ نَعَمْ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَکَ وَتَعَالَی فَرَضَ صِيَامَ رَمَضَانَ عَلَيْکُمْ وَسَنَنْتُ لَکُمْ قِيَامَهُ فَمَنْ صَامَهُ وَقَامَهُ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا خَرَجَ مِنْ ذُنُوبِهِ کَيَوْمِ وَلَدَتْهُ أُمُّهُ

An-Nadr bin Shaiban narrated that he met Abu Salamah bin ‘Abdur-Rahman and said to him: “Tell me of the best thing you heard about the month of Ramadan.” Abu Salamah said: “Abdur-Rahman bin ‘Awf told me that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم mentioned Ramadan and said that it is superior to other months, and he said: ‘Whoever spends the nights of Ramadan in prayer (Qiyam) out of faith and in the hope of reward, he will emerge from his sins as on the day his mother bore him.” (Da’if) Abu ‘Abdur-Rahman (An-Nasa’l) said: This is a mistake, and what is Correct is “Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurairah.”

أَخْبَرَنِي هِلَالُ بْنُ الْعَلَائِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَقَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَکَ وَتَعَالَی يَقُولُ الصَّوْمُ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ وَلِلصَّائِمِ فَرْحَتَانِ حِينَ يُفْطِرُ وَحِينَ يَلْقَی رَبَّهُ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْکِ

A similar report was narrated from Abu Salamah and he said: “Whoever fasts it and spends its nights in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward.” (Do‘if)

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَقَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ الصَّوْمُ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ وَلِلصَّائِمِ فَرْحَتَانِ فَرْحَةٌ حِينَ يَلْقَی رَبَّهُ وَفَرْحَةٌ عِنْدَ إِفْطَارِهِ وَلَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْکِ

An-Nadr bin Shaiban said:“I said to Abu Salamah bin ‘Abdur Rahman: ‘Tell me of something — that you heard from your father, that he heard from the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم with no one in between your father and the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم — concerning the month of Ramadan.’ He said: ‘Yes; my father said: The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: Allah, may He be blessed and exalted, enjoined the fast of Ramadan upon you, and I have made it Sunnah for you to spend its nights in prayer. Whoever fasts it and spends its nights in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward, he will emerge from his sins as on the day his mother bore him.” (Da`if)

أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سِنَانٍ ضِرَارُ بْنُ مُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَکَ وَتَعَالَی يَقُولُ الصَّوْمُ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ وَلِلصَّائِمِ فَرْحَتَانِ إِذَا أَفْطَرَ فَرِحَ وَإِذَا لَقِيَ اللَّهَ فَجَزَاهُ فَرِحَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْکِ

It was narrated from ‘Ali bin Abi Talib that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم a said: “Allah, may He be blessed and exalted, says: ‘Fasting is for Me and I shall reward for it. The fasting person has two moments of joy: When he breaks his fast and when he meets his Lord.’ By the One in Whose hand is my soul, the smell that comes from the mouth of the fasting person is better before Allah than the fragrance of musk.”(Sahih).

It was narrated from Abu Al-Ahwas that ‘Abdullah said: “Allah, may He be exalted, said: ‘Fasting is for Me and I shall reward for it. The fasting person has two moments of joy: When he breaks his fast and when he meets his Lord. أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَا مِنْ حَسَنَةٍ عَمِلَهَا ابْنُ آدَمَ إِلَّا کُتِبَ لَهُ عَشْرُ حَسَنَاتٍ إِلَی سَبْعِ مِائَةِ ضِعْفٍ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَّا الصِّيَامَ فَإِنَّهُ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ يَدَعُ شَهْوَتَهُ وَطَعَامَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِي الصِّيَامُ جُنَّةٌ لِلصَّائِمِ فَرْحَتَانِ فَرْحَةٌ عِنْدَ فِطْرِهِ وَفَرْحَةٌ عِنْدَ لِقَائِ رَبِّهِ وَلَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْکِ

It was narrated that Abu Saeed said: “The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: ‘Allah, may He be blessed and exalted, says: Fasting is for Me and I shall reward for it. The fasting person has two moments of joy: When he breaks his fast and when he meets his Lord. By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, the smell that comes from the mouth of the fasting person is better before Allah than the fragrance of musk.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَائٌ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ الزَّيَّاتِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کُلُّ عَمَلِ ابْنِ آدَمَ لَهُ إِلَّا الصِّيَامَ هُوَ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ وَالصِّيَامُ جُنَّةٌ إِذَا کَانَ يَوْمُ صِيَامِ أَحَدِکُمْ فَلَا يَرْفُثْ وَلَا يَصْخَبْ فَإِنْ شَاتَمَهُ أَحَدٌ أَوْ قَاتَلَهُ فَلْيَقُلْ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْکِ لِلصَّائِمِ فَرْحَتَانِ يَفْرَحُهُمَا إِذَا أَفْطَرَ فَرِحَ بِفِطْرِهِ وَإِذَا لَقِيَ رَبَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَرِحَ بِصَوْمِهِ

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: “(Allah says) fasting is for Me and I shall reward for it. The fasting person rejoices twice: When he breaks his fast and the day when he meets his Lord. And the smell that comes from the mouth of the fasting person is better before Allah than the fragrance of musk.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا سُوَيْدٌ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قِرَائَةً عَلَيْهِ عَنْ عَطَائِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَائٌ الزَّيَّاتُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ کُلُّ عَمَلِ ابْنِ آدَمَ لَهُ إِلَّا الصِّيَامَ هُوَ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ الصِّيَامُ جُنَّةٌ فَإِذَا کَانَ يَوْمُ صَوْمِ أَحَدِکُمْ فَلَا يَرْفُثْ وَلَا يَصْخَبْ فَإِنْ شَاتَمَهُ أَحَدٌ أَوْ قَاتَلَهُ فَلْيَقُلْ إِنِّي امْرُؤٌ صَائِمٌ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْکِ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَسَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said: “There is no good deed that the son of Adam does, but between ten and seven hundred Hasanahs will be recorded for him. Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, said: ‘Except fasting, for it is for Me and I shall reward for it. He gives up his desires and his food for My sake. Fasting is a shield, and the fasting person has two moments of joy. One when he breaks his fast and another when he meets his Lord. And the smell that comes from the mouth of the fasting person is better before Allah than the fragrance of musk.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ کُلُّ عَمَلِ ابْنِ آدَمَ لَهُ إِلَّا الصِّيَامَ هُوَ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَخُلْفَةُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْکِ

Abu Hurairah said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: ‘(Allah says) Every deed of the son of Adam is for him, except fasting; it is for Me and I shall reward for it. Fasting is a shield. If any one of you is fasting, let him not utter obscene talk or raise his voice in anger, and if anyone insults him or Wants to fight, let him say: I am fasting. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, the Smell coming from the mouth of the fasting person is better before Allah than the fragrance of musk. The fasting person has two moments of joy: When he breaks his fast he rejoices at breaking his fast and when he meets his Lord, the Mighty and Sublime, he will rejoice at having fasted.” (Sahih)

Abu Hurairah said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: ‘Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, said:Every deed of the son of Adam is for him, except fasting; it is for Me and I shall reward for it. Fasting is a shield. Abu Hurairah said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم say: ‘Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, said: Every deed of the son of Adam is for him, except fasting; it is for Me and I shall reward for it.’ By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, the smell coming from the mouth of the fasting person is better before Allah than the fragrance of musk.” (Sahih)

عَلَيْکَ بِالصَّوْمِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا مِثْلَ لَهُ ← أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقُلْتُ مُرْنِي بِأَمْرٍ آخُذُهُ عَنْکَ ← اَبِیْ اُمَامَۃَ، ← رَجَائِ بْنِ حَيْوَةَ ← مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي يَعْقُوبَ، ← مَهْدِيُّ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ ← عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، ← عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ،

أَخْبَرَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي يَعْقُوبَ الضَّبِّيَّ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ رَجَائِ بْنِ حَيْوَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيُّ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مُرْنِي بِأَمْرٍ يَنْفَعُنِي اللَّهُ بِهِ قَالَ عَلَيْکَ بِالصِّيَامِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا مِثْلَ لَهُ

احمد بن عیسی، ابن وہب، عمرو، بکیر، سعید بن مسیب، ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا ارشاد الٰہی ہے کہ انسان کو ہر ایک نیک عمل کا بدلہ دس نیک عمل کا ثواب ملے گا لیکن روزہ صرف میرے ہی واسطے ہے اور میں ہی اس کا بدلہ دوں گا۔
