أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَی قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جُحَادَةَ عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ عَنْ ابْنِ أَبْزَی عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ کَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُوتِرُ بِسَبِّحْ اسْمَ رَبِّکَ الْأَعْلَی وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْکَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ فَإِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْ الصَّلَاةِ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِکِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ

Muhammad bin Juhadah reported from Zubaid, Saeed bin ‘Abdur-Rahman bin Abza, from his father, who said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم used to recite in Witr: ‘Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;’ and: ‘Say: you disbelievers!;’ and: ‘Say: He is Allah, (the) One.’ And when he had finished praying, he said: Subi’zanal-Malikil-Quddas (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times.” (Sahih)

Shuaib bin Harb reported from Malik, from Zubaid, from Ibn Abza, from his father, who said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم used to recite in Witr: ‘Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;’ and: ‘Say: you disbeievers!;’ and: ‘Say: He is Allah, (the) One.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ آدَمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِکٌ عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ عَنْ ذَرٍّ عَنْ ابْنِ أَبْزَی مُرْسَلٌ وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ عَطَائُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَی عَنْ أَبِيهِ

Ahmad bin Sulaiman informed us, he said: “Yahya bin Adam narrated to us, he said: ‘Malik narrated to us from Zubaid, from Dharr, from Ibn Abza.” (Sahih) In Mursal form, ‘Ata’ bin As-Sa’ib reported it from Saeed bin ‘Abdur-Rahman bin Abza, from his father.

Muhammad bin Bashshar informed us, he said: “Abu Dawud narrated to us from Shu’bah, from Qatadah, who said: I heard ‘Azarah narrating from Saeed bin ‘Abdur Rahman Ibn Abza, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم used to recite in Witr: ‘Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;’ and: ‘Say: you disbelievers!;’ and: ‘Say: He is Allah, (the) One.’ And when he finished, he would say: ‘Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy)’ three times.” (Sahih)

Ishaq bin Mansur informed us, he said: “Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: Shu’bah narrated to us, from Qatadah, from ‘Abdur Rahman bin Abza, that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم used to recite in Witr: ‘Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;’ and: ‘Say: you disbelievers!;’ and: ‘Say: He is Allah, (the) One.’ And when he finished he would say: ‘Sub (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy)’ three times, elongating the words the third time.” (Sahih)

Muhammad bin Al Muthanna informed us, he said: “Muhammad said: Shu’bah narrated to us, he said: I heard Qatadah narrating from Zurarah, from ‘Abdur-Rahman bin Abza, that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم used to recite in Witr: ‘Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High.’ (Sa Shababah contradicted them, he reported it from Shu’bah, from Qatadah, from Zurarah bin Awla, from ‘Imran bin Husain.

أَخْبَرَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَی عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْتَرَ بِسَبِّحْ اسْمَ رَبِّکَ الْأَعْلَی قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ لَا أَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا تَابَعَ شَبَابَةَ عَلَی هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ خَالَفَهُ يَحْيَی بْنُ سَعِيدٍ

(With that chain) from ‘Imran bin Hussain that the Prophet recited in Witr: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High. (Sahih) Abu ‘Abdur-Rahman (An-Nasa’l) said: I do not know anyone who followed Shababah in narrating this Hadith, Yahya bin Sa eed contradicted him.

Muhammad bin Al-Muthanna informed us, he said: “Yahya bin Saeed narrated to us from Shu’bah, from Qatadah, from Zurarah, from ‘Imran bin Husain, who said: The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم prayed uhr, and a man recited ‘Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High.’ When he finished praying, he said: ‘Who recited: ‘Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High?’ A man said: ‘I did.’ He said: ‘I knew that someone was competing with me in it.” (Sahih)

قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّ بَعْضَهُمْ خَالَجَنِيهَا ← رَجُلٌ: ← مَنْ قَرَأَ بِسَبِّحْ اسْمَ رَبِّکَ الْأَعْلَی ← صَلَّی رَسُولُ اللَّهِ الظُّهْرَ فَقَرَأَ رَجُلٌ بِسَبِّحْ اسْمَ رَبِّکَ الْأَعْلَی فَلَمَّا صَلَّی ← عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ← زُرَارَةَ ← قَتَادَةَ ← شُعْبَةُ، ← يَحْيَی بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى،

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَقَ عَنْ بُرَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَوْرَائِ قَالَ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ عَلَّمَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَلِمَاتٍ أَقُولُهُنَّ فِي الْوِتْرِ فِي الْقُنُوتِ اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي فِيمَنْ هَدَيْتَ وَعَافِنِي فِيمَنْ عَافَيْتَ وَتَوَلَّنِي فِيمَنْ تَوَلَّيْتَ وَبَارِکْ لِي فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَقِنِي شَرَّ مَا قَضَيْتَ إِنَّکَ تَقْضِي وَلَا يُقْضَی عَلَيْکَ وَإِنَّهُ لَا يَذِلُّ مَنْ وَالَيْتَ تَبَارَکْتَ رَبَّنَا وَتَعَالَيْتَ

It was narrated that Abu Al Jawza’ said: “Al-Hasan said: ‘The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم taught me some words to say in Witrin Qunuit:(Allah, guide me among those whom You have guided, pardon me among those whom You have pardoned, turn to me in friendship among those on whom You have turned in friendship, and bless me in what You have bestowed, and save me from the evil of what You have decreed. For verily You decree and none can influence You; and he is not humiliated whom You have befriended. Blessed are You, Lord, and Exalted).” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ عَنْ يَحْيَی بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ مُوسَی بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ عَلَّمَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَؤُلَائِ الْکَلِمَاتِ فِي الْوِتْرِ قَالَ قُلْ اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي فِيمَنْ هَدَيْتَ وَبَارِکْ لِي فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَتَوَلَّنِي فِيمَنْ تَوَلَّيْتَ وَقِنِي شَرَّ مَا قَضَيْتَ فَإِنَّکَ تَقْضِي وَلَا يُقْضَی عَلَيْکَ وَإِنَّهُ لَا يَذِلُّ مَنْ وَالَيْتَ تَبَارَکْتَ رَبَّنَا وَتَعَالَيْتَ وَصَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَی النَّبِيِّ مُحَمَّدٍ

It was narrated that Abdullah Hasan bin ‘Ali said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم taught me these words in Witr. He said: Say:(Allah, guide me among those whom You have guided, pardon me among those whom You have pardoned, turn to me in friendship among those on whom You have turned in friendship, and bless me in what You have bestowed, and save me from the evil of what You have decreed. For verily You decree and none can influence You; and he is not humiliated whom You have befriended. Blessed are You, Lord, and Exalted. And may Allah send Salah upon the Prophet Muhammad).” (Da‘if)

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَکِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَهِشَامُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِکِ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْفَزَارِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَانَ يَقُولُ فِي آخِرِ وِتْرِهِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِرِضَاکَ مِنْ سَخَطِکَ وَبِمُعَافَاتِکَ مِنْ عُقُوبَتِکَ وَأَعُوذُ بِکَ مِنْکَ لَا أُحْصِي ثَنَائً عَلَيْکَ أَنْتَ کَمَا أَثْنَيْتَ عَلَی نَفْسِکَ

It was narrated from ‘Ali bin Abi Talib that the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم used to say at the end of his Witr:(Allah, I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your wrath and in Your forgiveness from Your punishment. And I seek refuge in You from You; I cannot praise You enough; You are as You have praised Yourself).” (Sahih)
