أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ آدَمَ عَنْ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِکَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ لَا يَنْفَعُ وَمِنْ قَلْبٍ لَا يَخْشَعُ وَمِنْ نَفْسٍ لَا تَشْبَعُ وَمِنْ دُعَائٍ لَا يُسْمَعُ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ سَعِيدٌ لَمْ يَسْمَعْهُ مِنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ بَلْ سَمِعَهُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

It was narrated from Saeed, from Abu Hurairah who said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said:(Allah, I seek refuge with You from knowledge that is of no benefit, a heart that is not humble, a soul that is not satisfied and a supplication that is not heard.)” (Sahih) Abu ‘Abdur-Rahman (An-Nasa’i) said: Saeed did not hear from Abli Hurairah, rather he heard it from his brother, from Abu Hurairah.

أَخْبَرَنَا وَاصِلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَی عَنْ ابْنِ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ کَانَ إِذَا قِيلَ لِزَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ حَدِّثْنَا مَا سَمِعْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَا أُحَدِّثُکُمْ إِلَّا مَا کَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدَّثَنَا بِهِ وَيَأْمُرُنَا أَنْ نَقُولَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِکَ مِنْ الْعَجْزِ وَالْکَسَلِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْهَرَمِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ اللَّهُمَّ آتِ نَفْسِي تَقْوَاهَا وَزَکِّهَا أَنْتَ خَيْرُ مَنْ زَکَّاهَا أَنْتَ وَلِيُّهَا وَمَوْلَاهَا اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِکَ مِنْ نَفْسٍ لَا تَشْبَعُ وَمِنْ قَلْبٍ لَا يَخْشَعُ وَمِنْ عِلْمٍ لَا يَنْفَعُ وَدَعْوَةٍ لَا تُسْتَجَابُ

It was narrated that ‘Abdullah bin Al-Harith said: “When it was said to Zaid bin Arqam: ‘Tell us what you heard from the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم he said: “I will not tell you anything but that which the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم commanded us to say:(Allah, I seek refuge in You from incapacity, laziness, miserliness, cowardice, old age, the torment of the grave. Allah, make my soul obedient and purify it, for You are the best One to purify it, You are its Guardian and Lord. Allah, I seek refuge in You from a soul that is not satisfied, a heart that is not humble, knowledge that is of no benefit and a supplication that is not answered.)”(Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَانَ إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ قَالَ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِکَ مِنْ أَنْ أَزِلَّ أَوْ أَضِلَّ أَوْ أَظْلِمَ أَوْ أُظْلَمَ أَوْ أَجْهَلَ أَوْ يُجْهَلَ عَلَيَّ

It was narrated from Umm Salamah that when the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم went out of his house, he said: “Bismillahi Rabbi. ‘AIldhu bika mm an azilla aw adilla aw azlima aw uziama, aw ajhala aw yujhala ‘ala (In the name of Allah my Lord, I seek refuge in You from falling into error or going astray, or wronging (others) or being wronged, and from behaving or being treated in an ignorant manner.)” (Da’if)

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَکْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَقَ السُّنِّيُّ قِرَائَةً عَلَيْهِ فِي بَيْتِهِ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا الْإِمَامُ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ النَّسَائِيُّ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَی قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَی قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَقَ عَنْ أَبِي مَيْسَرَةَ عَنْ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ لَمَّا نَزَلَ تَحْرِيمُ الْخَمْرِ قَالَ عُمَرُ اللَّهُمَّ بَيِّنْ لَنَا فِي الْخَمْرِ بَيَانًا شَافِيًا فَنَزَلَتْ الْآيَةُ الَّتِي فِي الْبَقَرَةِ فَدُعِيَ عُمَرُ فَقُرِئَتْ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ اللَّهُمَّ بَيِّنْ لَنَا فِي الْخَمْرِ بَيَانًا شَافِيًا فَنَزَلَتْ الْآيَةُ الَّتِي فِي النِّسَائِ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَقْرَبُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَأَنْتُمْ سُکَارَی فَکَانَ مُنَادِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ نَادَی لَا تَقْرَبُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَأَنْتُمْ سُکَارَی فَدُعِيَ عُمَرُ فَقُرِئَتْ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ بَيِّنْ لَنَا فِي الْخَمْرِ بَيَانًا شَافِيًا فَنَزَلَتْ الْآيَةُ الَّتِي فِي الْمَائِدَةِ فَدُعِيَ عُمَرُ فَقُرِئَتْ عَلَيْهِ فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ فَهَلْ أَنْتُمْ مُنْتَهُونَ قَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ انْتَهَيْنَا انْتَهَيْنَا

It was narrated from ‘Umar that when the prohibition of Kharnr was revealed, ‘Umar said: “Allah, give us a clear ruling on Khamr,” and the Verse in Al Baqarah was revealed. ‘Umar was called and it was recited to him. Then ‘Umar said: “Allah, give us a clear ruling on Khamr,” and the Verse in An-Nisa’ was revealed: “you who believe! Approach not Af (the prayer) when you are in a drunken state”J’ And when the Iqamah for prayer was said, the caller of the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم would cry out: “you who believe! Approach not A (the prayer) when you are in a drunken state.” ‘Umar was called and this was recited to him. Then he said: “Allah, give us a clear ruling on Khamr.” Then the Verse in Surat Al-Ma’idah was revealed, and ‘Umar was called, and it was recited to him. When he reached the words, “So, will you not then abstain?,” ‘Umar said: “We have abstained, we have abstained.” (Da’if)

أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُبَارَکِ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ أَنَّ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِکٍ أَخْبَرَهُمْ قَالَ بَيْنَا أَنَا قَائِمٌ عَلَی الْحَيِّ وَأَنَا أَصْغَرُهُمْ سِنًّا عَلَی عُمُومَتِي إِذْ جَائَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ إِنَّهَا قَدْ حُرِّمَتْ الْخَمْرُ وَأَنَا قَائِمٌ عَلَيْهِمْ أَسْقِيهِمْ مِنْ فَضِيخٍ لَهُمْ فَقَالُوا اکْفَأْهَا فَکَفَأْتُهَا فَقُلْتُ لِأَنَسٍ مَا هُوَ قَالَ الْبُسْرُ وَالتَّمْرُ قَالَ أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَنَسٍ کَانَتْ خَمْرُهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ فَلَمْ يُنْکِرْ أَنَسٌ

Anas bin Malik said: “While I was taking care of a group of people, including my paternal uncles, and I was the youngest of them, a man came and said: ‘Khamr has been forbidden.’ I was taking care of them, and was pouring FadIkh (date wine) for them. They said: ‘Pour it away.’ So I poured it away.” I (the narrator) said to Anas: “What is that?” He said: “Unripe dates and dried dates.” Abu Bakr bin Anas said: “That was their wine in those days.” And Anas did not deny that. (Sahih)

الْبُسْرُ وَالتَّمْرُ، ← اكْفَأْهَا، فَكَفَأْتُهَا «فَقُلْتُ لِأَنَسٍ: مَا هُوَ؟ ← قَائِمٌ عَلَيْهِمْ أَسْقِيهِمْ مِنْ فَضِيخٍ لَهُمْ، ← إِنَّهَا قَدْ حُرِّمَتْ الْخَمْرُ ← أَصْغَرُهُمْ سِنًّا عَلَی عُمُومَتِي إِذْ جَائَ رَجُلٌ ← قَائِمٌ عَلَى الْحَيِّ ← بَيْنَا ← سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ، أَنَّ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، ← عَبْدُ اللَّهِ -يَعْنِي ابْن الْمُبَارَكِ- ← سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ

أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُبَارَکِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ کُنْتُ أَسْقِي أَبَا طَلْحَةَ وَأُبَيَّ بْنَ کَعْبٍ وَأَبَا دُجَانَةَ فِي رَهْطٍ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ حَدَثَ خَبْرٌ نَزَلَ تَحْرِيمُ الْخَمْرِ فَکَفَأْنَا قَالَ وَمَا هِيَ يَوْمَئِذٍ إِلَّا الْفَضِيخُ خَلِيطُ الْبُسْرِ وَالتَّمْرِ قَالَ وَقَالَ أَنَسٌ لَقَدْ حُرِّمَتْ الْخَمْرُ وَإِنَّ عَامَّةَ خُمُورِهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْفَضِيخُ

It was narrated that Anas said: “I was pouring (wine) for Abu Talhah, Ubayy bin Ka’b and Abu Dujanah among a group of Ansar when a man came in and said: ‘Something new has happened; the prohibition of Khamr has been revealed.’ So we poured it away.” He said: “The only intoxicant in those days was Fa a mixture of unripe dates and dried dates.” And Anas said: “Khamr was forbidden, and most of their Khamr in those days was FadIkh.” (Sahih)222

أَبَا دُجَانَةَ فِي رَهْطٍ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَجُلٌ ← أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ← كنت أسقي أبا طلحة ← أَنَسٍ، ← قَتَادَةَ ← سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، ← عَبْدُ اللَّهِ -يَعْنِي ابْن الْمُبَارَكِ- ← سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ

It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said: “When Khamr was forbidden, their drink was (made from) unripe dates and dried dates.” (Sahih)

Jabir bin ‘Abdullah said: “Unripe dates and dried dates are Khamr.” Al narrated it in Ma,jil’form.(Sahih)

It was narrated from Jabir that the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: “Raisins and dried dates are Khamr.” (Hasan)

It was narrated from Ibn Abi Laila, from one of the Companions of the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم, that the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم forbade (mixtures of) Al-Balh and dried dates, and of raisins and dried dates. (Sahih)
