‘Ubaidullah bin Saeed said: “I heard Abu Usamah say: ‘I never saw any man more assiduous in seeking knowledge than ‘Abdullah bin Al-Mubarak, not in Ash-Sham, Egypt, Yemen or the ijaz.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَی قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ کَانَ لِأُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ قَدَحٌ مِنْ عَيْدَانٍ فَقَالَتْ سَقَيْتُ فِيهِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کُلَّ الشَّرَابِ الْمَائَ وَالْعَسَلَ وَاللَّبَنَ وَالنَّبِيذَ

It was narrated that Anas said: Umm Sulaim had a wooden cup and she said: “I gave the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم all kinds of things to drink in it: Water, honey, milk and Nabidh.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدٌ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ کُهَيْلٍ عَنْ ذَرِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَی عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أُبَيَّ بْنَ کَعْبٍ عَنْ النَّبِيذِ فَقَالَ اشْرَبْ الْمَائَ وَاشْرَبْ الْعَسَلَ وَاشْرَبْ السَّوِيقَ وَاشْرَبْ اللَّبَنَ الَّذِي نُجِعْتَ بِهِ فَعَاوَدْتُهُ فَقَالَ الْخَمْرَ تُرِيدُ الْخَمْرَ تُرِيدُ

It was narrated from Saeed bin ‘Abdur-Rahman bin Abza that his father said: “I asked Ubayy bin Ka’b about Nabidh, and he said: ‘Drink water, drink honey, drink SawIq (barley gruel) and drink milk that you have been nourished with since childhood.’ I repeated the question and he said: ‘Is it wine you want? Is it wine you want?” (Da’if)

It was narrated that Ibn Mas’ud said: “The people have invented new drinks and I do not uiow what they are. I have not drunk anything for years (or he said: years) except water and SawIq (barley gruel), and he did not mention Nabidh.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ ابْنِ شُبْرُمَةَ قَالَ قَالَ طَلْحَةُ لِأَهْلِ الْکُوفَةِ فِي النَّبِيذِ فِتْنَةٌ يَرْبُو فِيهَا الصَّغِيرُ وَيَهْرَمُ فِيهَا الْکَبِيرُ قَالَ وَکَانَ إِذَا کَانَ فِيهِمْ عُرْسٌ کَانَ طَلْحَةُ وَزُبَيْدٌ يَسْقِيَانِ اللَّبَنَ وَالْعَسَلَ فَقِيلَ لِطَلْحَةَ أَلَا تَسْقِيهِمُ النَّبِيذَ قَالَ إِنِّي أَکْرَهُ أَنْ يَسْکَرَ مُسْلِمٍ فِي سَبَبِي

It was narrated that Ibn Shubrumah said: “Talhah said to the people of Al-Kufah concerning Nabidh: ‘It is a test whereby a young man may benefit but an old man may be harmed.’ If there was a wedding among them, Talhah and Zubaid would offer milk and honey to drink. It was said to Taltiah: ‘Why don’t you offer Nabidh?’ He said: ‘I would not like a Muslim to become intoxicated because of me.” (Sahih)

‘Aishah said: “I said: ‘Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم! Can I not enter the House?’ He said: ‘Enter the Hijr for it is part of the House.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَلْقَمَةُ بْنُ أَبِي عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ أُمِّهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ کُنْتُ أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَدْخُلَ الْبَيْتَ فَأُصَلِّيَ فِيهِ فَأَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِي فَأَدْخَلَنِي الْحِجْرَ فَقَالَ إِذَا أَرَدْتِ دُخُولَ الْبَيْتِ فَصَلِّي هَا هُنَا فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ قِطْعَةٌ مِنْ الْبَيْتِ وَلَکِنَّ قَوْمَکِ اقْتَصَرُوا حَيْثُ بَنَوْهُ

It was narrated that ‘ishah said: “I wanted to enter the House and pray therein, so the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم took me by the hand and took me into the Hijr and said: ‘If you want to enter the House, then pray here, for it is part of the House, but your people made it too small when they built it.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِکِ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَطَائٌ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ هُوَ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْبَيْتَ فَأَمَرَ بِلَالًا فَأَجَافَ الْبَابَ وَالْبَيْتُ إِذْ ذَاکَ عَلَی سِتَّةِ أَعْمِدَةٍ فَمَضَی حَتَّی إِذَا کَانَ بَيْنَ الْأُسْطُوَانَتَيْنِ اللَّتَيْنِ تَلِيَانِ بَابَ الْکَعْبَةِ جَلَسَ فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَأَثْنَی عَلَيْهِ وَسَأَلَهُ وَاسْتَغْفَرَهُ ثُمَّ قَامَ حَتَّی أَتَی مَا اسْتَقْبَلَ مِنْ دُبُرِ الْکَعْبَةِ فَوَضَعَ وَجْهَهُ وَخَدَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَأَثْنَی عَلَيْهِ وَسَأَلَهُ وَاسْتَغْفَرَهُ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ إِلَی کُلِّ رُکْنٍ مِنْ أَرْکَانِ الْکَعْبَةِ فَاسْتَقْبَلَهُ بِالتَّکْبِيرِ وَالتَّهْلِيلِ وَالتَّسْبِيحِ وَالثَّنَائِ عَلَی اللَّهِ وَالْمَسْأَلَةِ وَالِاسْتِغْفَارِ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَصَلَّی رَکْعَتَيْنِ مُسْتَقْبِلَ وَجْهِ الْکَعْبَةِ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَقَالَ هَذِهِ الْقِبْلَةُ هَذِهِ الْقِبْلَةُ

It was narrated from Usamah bin Zaid that he and the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم s entered the House, and he told Bilal to shut the door. At that time the House was built on six pillars. He walked forward until, when he was between the two columns that are on either side of the door of the Ka’bah, he sat down, praised Allah, asked of Him, and prayed for forgiveness. Then he got up, and went to the back wall of the Ka’bah, placed his face and cheek against it and praised Allah, asked of Him, and prayed for forgiveness. Then he went to each corner of the Ka’bah and faced it, reciting the Takbir, the Ta/ill! and the Tasbih, praising Allah, asking of Him and praying for forgiveness. Then he came out and prayed two Rak facing the front of the Ka’bah, then he moved away and said: ‘This is the Qiblah, this is the Qiblah.” (Hasan)

أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِکِ عَنْ عَطَائٍ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْبَيْتَ فَجَلَسَ فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَأَثْنَی عَلَيْهِ وَکَبَّرَ وَهَلَّلَ ثُمَّ مَالَ إِلَی مَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنْ الْبَيْتِ فَوَضَعَ صَدْرَهُ عَلَيْهِ وَخَدَّهُ وَيَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ کَبَّرَ وَهَلَّلَ وَدَعَا فَعَلَ ذَلِکَ بِالْأَرْکَانِ کُلِّهَا ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَأَقْبَلَ عَلَی الْقِبْلَةِ وَهُوَ عَلَی الْبَابِ فَقَالَ هَذِهِ الْقِبْلَةُ هَذِهِ الْقِبْلَةُ

It was narrated that Usamah bin Zaid said: “I entered the House with the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم He sat and praised Allah, and recited the Takbir, and the Tahlil. Then he went to the wall of the House that was in front of him, and placed his chest, cheek and hands on it, then he recited the Takblr, and the Ta/ill!, and supplicated. And he did that in all the corners, then he came out, and turned to face the Qiblah while he was in front of the door, and he said: ‘This is the Qiblah, this is the Qiblah.” (Hasan)
