أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قَعْنَبٌ کُوفِيٌّ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ عَنْ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ حُرْمَةُ نِسَائِ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ عَلَی الْقَاعِدِينَ فِي الْحُرْمَةِ کَأُمَّهَاتِهِمْ وَمَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ الْقَاعِدِينَ يَخْلُفُ رَجُلًا مِنْ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ فِي أَهْلِهِ إِلَّا نُصِبَ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَيُقَالُ يَا فُلَانُ هَذَا فُلَانٌ فَخُذْ مِنْ حَسَنَاتِهِ مَا شِئْتَ ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَی أَصْحَابِهِ فَقَالَ مَا ظَنُّکُمْ تُرَوْنَ يَدَعُ لَهُ مِنْ حَسَنَاتِهِ شَيْئًا

It was narrated from Ibn Buraidah, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: “The sanctity of the wives of the MujahidIn to those who stay behind is like the sanctity of their mothers. There is no man among those who stay behind who takes on the responsibility of looking after the wife of one of the MujahidIn (and betrays him) but he (the betrayer) will be made to stand before him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said: ‘So-and-so, this is so-and-so, take whatever you want from his good deeds.” Then the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم turned to his Companions and said: “What do you think: Will he leave him any of his good deeds?” (Sahih)

It was narrated that Anas said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: ‘Strive in Jihad with your hands, your tongues and your wealth.” (Da’if)

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ مُوسَی بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ هُوَ الشَّامِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَيْمُونُ بْنُ الْأَصْبَغِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا شَرِيکٌ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَقَ عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ أَمَرَ بِقَتْلِ الْحَيَّاتِ وَقَالَ مَنْ خَافَ ثَأْرَهُنَّ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا

It was narrated from ‘Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم commanded that snakes be killed and he said: “Whoever fears their vengeance is not one of us.”(Da‘if)

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُمَيْسٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَبْرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَادَ جَبْرًا فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ سَمِعَ النِّسَائَ يَبْکِينَ وَيَقُلْنَ کُنَّا نَحْسَبُ وَفَاتَکَ قَتْلًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ وَمَا تَعُدُّونَ الشَّهَادَةَ إِلَّا مَنْ قُتِلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ شُهَدَائَکُمْ إِذًا لَقَلِيلٌ الْقَتْلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ شَهَادَةٌ وَالْبَطْنُ شَهَادَةٌ وَالْحَرَقُ شَهَادَةٌ وَالْغَرَقُ شَهَادَةٌ وَالْمَغْمُومُ يَعْنِي الْهَدِمَ شَهَادَةٌ وَالْمَجْنُونُ شَهَادَةٌ وَالْمَرْأَةُ تَمُوتُ بِجُمْعٍ شَهِيدَةٌ قَالَ رَجُلٌ أَتَبْکِينَ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَاعِدٌ قَالَ دَعْهُنَّ فَإِذَا وَجَبَ فَلَا تَبْکِيَنَّ عَلَيْهِ بَاکِيَةٌ

It was narrated from ‘Abduflah bin ‘Abdullah bin Jabr, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم visited Jabr (when he was sick). When he entered he heard the women crying and saying: “We thought that your death would come when fighting in the cause of Allah.” He said: “You think that martyrdom only comes when one is killed in the cause of Allah. In that case your martyrs would be few. Being killed in the cause of Allah is martyrdom, dying of an abdominal complaint is martyrdom, being burned to death is martyrdom, drowning is martyrdom, being crushed beneath a falling wall is martyrdom, dying of pleurisy is martyrdom, and the woman who dies along with her fetus is a martyr.” A man said: “Are you weeping when the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم is sitting here?” He said: “Let them be, but if he dies no one should weep for him.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَی قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ يَعْنِي الطَّائِيَّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِکِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ جَبْرٍ أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَی مَيِّتٍ فَبَکَی النِّسَائُ فَقَالَ جَبْرٌ أَتَبْکِينَ مَا دَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَالِسًا قَالَ دَعْهُنَّ يَبْکِينَ مَا دَامَ بَيْنَهُنَّ فَإِذَا وَجَبَ فَلَا تَبْکِيَنَّ بَاکِيَةٌ

It was narrated from Jabr that he entered with the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم upon someone who was dying, and the women were weeping. Jabr said: “Are you weeping when the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم is sitting here?” He said: “Let them weep so long as he is among them, but if he dies no one should weep for him.”(Sahih).

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ سَيْفٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ عَطَائٍ قَالَ حَضَرْنَا مَعَ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ جَنَازَةَ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِسَرِفَ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ هَذِهِ مَيْمُونَةُ إِذَا رَفَعْتُمْ جَنَازَتَهَا فَلَا تُزَعْزِعُوهَا وَلَا تُزَلْزِلُوهَا فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَانَ مَعَهُ تِسْعُ نِسْوَةٍ فَکَانَ يَقْسِمُ لِثَمَانٍ وَوَاحِدَةٌ لَمْ يَکُنْ يَقْسِمُ لَهَا

It was narrated that ‘Ata’ said: “We attended the funeral of Maimunah, the wife of the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم with Ibn ‘Abbas in Sarif. Ibn ‘Abbas said: ‘This is Maimunah; when you lift up her bier, do not rock it nor shake it. The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم had nine wives and he used to give a share of his time to eight of them and not to one.” (Sahih)

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said: “When the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم died he had nine wives; he used to be intimate with all of them except one, who had given her day and night to ‘Aishah.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ زُرَيْعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ أَنَّ أَنَسًا حَدَّثَهُمْ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَانَ يَطُوفُ عَلَی نِسَائِهِ فِي اللَّيْلَةِ الْوَاحِدَةِ وَلَهُ يَوْمَئِذٍ تِسْعُ نِسْوَةٍ

Anas narrated that the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم used to go around to his wives in a single night, and at that time he had nine wives.(Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَکِ الْمُخَرَّمِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ کُنْتُ أَغَارُ عَلَی اللَّاتِي وَهَبْنَ أَنْفُسَهُنَّ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَقُولُ أَوَتَهَبَ الْحُرَّةُ نَفْسَهَا فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ تُرْجِي مَنْ تَشَائُ مِنْهُنَّ وَتُؤْوِي إِلَيْکَ مَنْ تَشَائُ قُلْتُ وَاللَّهِ مَا أَرَی رَبَّکَ إِلَّا يُسَارِعُ لَکَ فِي هَوَاکَ

It was narrated that ‘Aishah said: “I used to feel jealous of those (women) who offered themselves (in marriage) to the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم and I said: ‘Would a free woman offer herself?’ Then Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, revealed: ‘You can postpone whom you will of them, and you may receive whom you will.’ I said: ‘By Allah, I see that your Lord is quick to respond to your wishes.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْمُقْرِئُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَازِمٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ أَنَا فِي الْقَوْمِ إِذْ قَالَتْ امْرَأَةٌ إِنِّي قَدْ وَهَبْتُ نَفْسِي لَکَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَرَأْ فِيَّ رَأْيَکَ فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ زَوِّجْنِيهَا فَقَالَ اذْهَبْ فَاطْلُبْ وَلَوْ خَاتَمًا مِنْ حَدِيدٍ فَذَهَبَ فَلَمْ يَجِدْ شَيْئًا وَلَا خَاتَمًا مِنْ حَدِيدٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ أَمَعَکَ مِنْ سُوَرِ الْقُرْآنِ شَيْئٌ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَزَوَّجَهُ بِمَا مَعَهُ مِنْ سُوَرِ الْقُرْآنِ

It was narrated that Sahl bin Saad said: “I was among the people when a woman said: ‘I offer myself (in marriage) to you, Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم, see what you think of me.’ A man stood up and said: ‘Many me to her.’ He said: ‘Go and find (something), even if it is an iron ring.’ So he went, but he could not find anything, not even an iron ring. So the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: ‘Do you have (memorized) any Surahs of the Qur’an?’ He said: ‘Yes.’ So he married him to her on the basis of what he knew of Surahs of the Qur’an.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَی بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَی بْنِ أَعْيَنَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَائَهَا حِينَ أَمَرَهُ اللَّهُ أَنْ يُخَيِّرَ أَزْوَاجَهُ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَبَدَأَ بِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنِّي ذَاکِرٌ لَکِ أَمْرًا فَلَا عَلَيْکِ أَنْ لَا تُعَجِّلِي حَتَّی تَسْتَأْمِرِي أَبَوَيْکِ قَالَتْ وَقَدْ عَلِمَ أَنَّ أَبَوَيَّ لَا يَأْمُرَانِي بِفِرَاقِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ قُلْ لِأَزْوَاجِکَ إِنْ کُنْتُنَّ تُرِدْنَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا وَزِينَتَهَا فَتَعَالَيْنَ أُمَتِّعْکُنَّ فَقُلْتُ فِي هَذَا أَسْتَأْمِرُ أَبَوَيَّ فَإِنِّي أُرِيدُ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَالدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ

It was narrated from ‘Aishah, the wife of the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم , that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم came to her when Allah commanded him to give his wives the choice. ‘Aishah said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم started with me and said: ‘I am going to tell you something, but you do not have to rush until you consult your parents.” She said: “He knew that my parents would not tell me to leave him.” Then the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: ‘Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم! Say to your wives: If you desire the life of this world, and its glitter, then come! I will make a provision for you and set you free in a handsome manner.’ “I said: ‘Do I need to consult my parents about this? I choose Allah and His Messenger, and the abode of the Hereafter.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْعَسْکَرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الضُّحَی عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ قَدْ خَيَّرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نِسَائَهُ أَوْ کَانَ طَلَاقًا

It was narrated that ‘Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her, said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم Jij gave his wives the choice (of staying with him) was it divorce?” (Sahih)

قَدْ خَيَّرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ نِسَائَهُ أَوْ کَانَ طَلَاقًا ← عَائِشَةَ ← مَسْرُوقٍ ← أَبَا الضُّحَی ← سُلَیْمَانَ ← شُعْبَةُ، ← غُنْدَرٌ، ← بِشْرُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ،
