حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ إِنَّ عُثْمَانَ صَلَّی أَرْبَعًا لِأَنَّهُ اتَّخَذَهَا وَطَنًا

Narrated Ibrahim: Uthman prayed four rak'ahs (at Mina) for he made it his home (for settlement).

إِنَّ عُثْمَانَ صَلَّی أَرْبَعًا لِأَنَّهُ اتَّخَذَهَا وَطَنًا ← إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ← الْمُغِيرَةِ، ← أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ، ← هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَائِ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَکِ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ لَمَّا اتَّخَذَ عُثْمَانُ الْأَمْوَالَ بِالطَّائِفِ وَأَرَادَ أَنْ يُقِيمَ بِهَا صَلَّی أَرْبَعًا قَالَ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ بِهِ الْأَئِمَّةُ بَعْدَهُ

Narrated Az-Zuhri: When Uthman placed his property at at-Taif and intended to settle there, he prayed four rak'ahs. The rulers after him followed the same practice.

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَی بْنُ إِسْمَعِيلَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ أَتَمَّ الصَّلَاةَ بِمِنًی مِنْ أَجْلِ الْأَعْرَابِ لِأَنَّهُمْ کَثُرُوا عَامَئِذٍ فَصَلَّی بِالنَّاسِ أَرْبَعًا لِيُعَلِّمَهُمْ أَنَّ الصَّلَاةَ أَرْبَعٌ

Narrated Az-Zuhri: Uthman offered complete prayer at Mina for the sake of bedouins who attended (hajj) in large numbers that year. He led the people four rak'ahs in prayer in order to teach them that the prayer (i. e. noon or afternoon prayer) essentially contained four rak'ahs.

حَدَّثَنَا النُّفَيْلِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَقَ حَدَّثَنِي حَارِثَةُ بْنُ وَهْبٍ الْخُزَاعِيُّ وَکَانَتْ أُمُّهُ تَحْتَ عُمَرَ فَوَلَدَتْ لَهُ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِنًی وَالنَّاسُ أَکْثَرُ مَا کَانُوا فَصَلَّی بِنَا رَکْعَتَيْنِ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد حَارِثَةُ بْنُ خُزَاعَةَ وَدَارُهُمْ بِمَکَّةَ

Narrated Harithah ibn Wahb al-Khuzai,: I prayed along with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at Mina and the people gathered there in large numbers. He led us two rak'ahs in prayer in the Farewell Pilgrimage. Abu Dawud said: Harithah belonged to the tribe of Khuzaah, and they had their houses in Makkah.

حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ أُمِّهِ قَالَتْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَرْمِي الْجَمْرَةَ مِنْ بَطْنِ الْوَادِي وَهُوَ رَاکِبٌ يُکَبِّرُ مَعَ کُلِّ حَصَاةٍ وَرَجُلٌ مِنْ خَلْفِهِ يَسْتُرُهُ فَسَأَلْتُ عَنْ الرَّجُلِ فَقَالُوا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ وَازْدَحَمَ النَّاسُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ لَا يَقْتُلْ بَعْضُکُمْ بَعْضًا وَإِذَا رَمَيْتُمْ الْجَمْرَةَ فَارْمُوا بِمِثْلِ حَصَی الْخَذْفِ

Narrated Sulaiman bin Amr bin al-Ahwas: On the authority of his mother: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ throwing pebbles at the jamrah from the botton of wadi (valley) while he was riding (on a camel). He was uttering the takbir (Allah is most great) with each pebble. A man behind him was shading him. I asked about the man. They (the people) said: He is al-Fadl bin al-Abbas. The people crowded. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'O people, do not kill each other ; when you throw pebbled at the jamrah, throw small pebbles.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو ثَوْرٍ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ وَوَهْبُ بْنُ بَيَانٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدَةُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ أُمِّهِ قَالَتْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ جَمْرَةِ الْعَقَبَةِ رَاکِبًا وَرَأَيْتُ بَيْنَ أَصَابِعِهِ حَجَرًا فَرَمَی وَرَمَی النَّاسُ

Sulaiman bin Amr bin Ahwas reported on the authority of his mother: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ near the Jamrat al-Aqabah (the third or last pillar) riding (on a camel) and I saw a pebble between his fingers. He threw the pebbles and the people also threw (stones at the Jamrah).

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَائِ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي زِيَادٍ بِإِسْنَادِهِ فِي مِثْلِ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ زَادَ وَلَمْ يَقُمْ عِنْدَهَا

The aforesaid tradition (No 1963) has also been transmitted by Yazid ibn Abu Ziyad with a different chain of narrators. This version adds the words: He (the Prophet) did not stand near it (the jamrah).

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُمَرَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ کَانَ يَأْتِي الْجِمَارَ فِي الْأَيَّامِ الثَّلَاثَةِ بَعْدَ يَوْمِ النَّحْرِ مَاشِيًا ذَاهِبًا وَرَاجِعًا وَيُخْبِرُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَانَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِکَ

Nafi reported on the authority of Ibn Umar. He (ibn Umar) used to come (to Mina) and threw pebbles three days after the day of sacrifice walking when arriving and returning (both ways). He reported that the Prophet ﷺ used to do so.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَرْمِي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ يَقُولُ لِتَأْخُذُوا مَنَاسِكَكُمْ فَإِنِّي لَا أَدْرِي لَعَلِّي لَا أَحُجُّ بَعْدَ حَجَّتِي هَذِهِ

Narrated Jabir bin Abdullah: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ throwing pebbles on the day of sacrifice while on his riding beast and saying: Learn your rites, for I do not know whether I am likely to perform Hajj after this occasion.

لِتَأْخُذُوا مَنَاسِكَكُمْ فَإِنِّي لَا أَدْرِي لَعَلِّي لَا أَحُجُّ بَعْدَ حَجَّتِي هَذِهِ ← رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَرْمِي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ ← جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ: ← أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ← ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، ← يَحْيَی بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ← أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ،

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَرْمِي عَلَی رَاحِلَتِهِ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ ضُحًی فَأَمَّا بَعْدَ ذَلِکَ فَبَعْدَ زَوَالِ الشَّمْسِ

Narrated Jabir: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ throwing pebbles on the day of sacrifice while on his riding beast in the forenoon, and next when the sun had passed the meridian.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ عَنْ وَبَرَةَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ مَتَی أَرْمِي الْجِمَارَ قَالَ إِذَا رَمَی إِمَامُکَ فَارْمِ فَأَعَدْتُ عَلَيْهِ الْمَسْأَلَةَ فَقَالَ کُنَّا نَتَحَيَّنُ زَوَالَ الشَّمْسِ فَإِذَا زَالَتْ الشَّمْسُ رَمَيْنَا

Narrated Wabrah: I asked Ibn Umar: When should I throw pebbles at the jamrah? He replied: When your imam (leader at Hajj) throws pebbles, at that time you should throw them. I repeated the question to him. Thereupon he said: We used to wait for the time when the sun passes the meridian. When the sun declined, we threw the pebbles.

كُنَّا نَتَحَيَّنُ زَوَالَ الشَّمْسِ فَإِذَا زَالَتْ الشَّمْسُ رَمَيْنَا. ← إِذَا رَمَی إِمَامُکَ فَارْمِ فَأَعَدْتُ عَلَيْهِ الْمَسْأَلَةَ ← سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ مَتَی أَرْمِي الْجِمَارَ ← وَبَرَةَ ← مِسْعَرٍ، ← سُفْيَانَ، ← عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ،
