حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ عَيْزَارٍ أَخْبَرَنِي قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيَّ يَقُولُ أَخْبَرَنَا صَاحِبُ هَذِهِ الدَّارِ وَأَوْمَأَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَی دَارِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَحَبُّ إِلَی اللَّهِ قَالَ الصَّلَاةُ عَلَی وَقْتِهَا قَالَ ثُمَّ أَيٌّ قَالَ بِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ قَالَ ثُمَّ أَيٌّ قَالَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي بِهِنَّ وَلَوْ اسْتَزَدْتُهُ لَزَادَنِي

Narrated Abu Huraira: A man came to Allah's Apostle and said, "O Allah's Apostle! Who is more entitled to be treated with the best companionship by me?" The Prophet said, "Your mother." The man said. "Who is next?" The Prophet said, "Your mother." The man further said, "Who is next?" The Prophet said, "Your mother." The man asked for the fourth time, "Who is next?" The Prophet said, "Your father. "

بِهِنَّ وَلَوْ اسْتَزَدْتُهُ لَزَادَنِي ← الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ← ثُمَّ أَيُّ؟، ← بِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ ← ثُمَّ أَيُّ؟، ← الصَّلَاةُ عَلَی وَقْتِهَا ← سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَحَبُّ إِلَی اللَّهِ ← صَاحِبُ هَذِهِ الدَّارِ وَأَوْمَأَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَی دَارِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ← أَبَا عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيَّ ← الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَيْزَارٍ ← شُعْبَةُ، ← أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ،

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ شُبْرُمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ جَائَ رَجُلٌ إِلَی رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَنْ أَحَقُّ النَّاسِ بِحُسْنِ صَحَابَتِي قَالَ أُمُّکَ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَنْ قَالَ ثُمَّ أُمُّکَ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَنْ قَالَ ثُمَّ أُمُّکَ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَنْ قَالَ ثُمَّ أَبُوکَ وَقَالَ ابْنُ شُبْرُمَةَ

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr: A man said to the Prophet, "Shall I participate in Jihad?" The Prophet said, "Are your parents living?" The man said, "Yes." the Prophet said, "Do Jihad for their benefit."

جَائَ رَجُلٌ إِلَی رَسُولِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ ← أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ← أَبِي زُرْعَةَ ← عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ شُبْرُمَةَ ← جَرِيرٌ ← قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی عَنْ سُفْيَانَ وَشُعْبَةَ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَبِيبٌ قَالَ ح و حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ کَثِيرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ حَبِيبٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ قَالَ رَجُلٌ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُجَاهِدُ قَالَ لَکَ أَبَوَانِ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَفِيهِمَا فَجَاهِدْ

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr: Allah's Apostle said. "It is one of the greatest sins that a man should curse his parents." It was asked (by the people), "O Allah's Apostle! How does a man curse his parents?" The Prophet said, "'The man abuses the father of another man and the latter abuses the father of the former and abuses his mother."

ففیھما فجاھد۔ ← نَعَمْ ← لَکَ أَبَوَانِ ← رَجُلٌ لِلنَّبِيِّ أُجَاهِدُ ← عَبْدِ اللہِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ← أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ، ← حَبِيبٍ ← سُفْيَانَ، ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، ← و، ← حَبِيبٍ ← سُفْیَانَ، وَشُعْبَۃَ، ← يَحْيَى ← مُسَدَّدٌ

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ مِنْ أَکْبَرِ الْکَبَائِرِ أَنْ يَلْعَنَ الرَّجُلُ وَالِدَيْهِ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَکَيْفَ يَلْعَنُ الرَّجُلُ وَالِدَيْهِ قَالَ يَسُبُّ الرَّجُلُ أَبَا الرَّجُلِ فَيَسُبُّ أَبَاهُ وَيَسُبُّ أُمَّهُ

Narrated Ibn `Umar: Allah's Apostle said, "While three persons were traveling, they were overtaken by rain and they took shelter in a cave in a mountain. A big rock fell from the mountain over the mouth of the cave and blocked it. They said to each other. 'Think of such good (righteous) deeds which, you did for Allah's sake only, and invoke Allah by giving reference to those deeds so that Allah may relieve you from your difficulty. one of them said, 'O Allah! I had my parents who were very old and I had small children for whose sake I used to work as a shepherd. When I returned to them at night and milked (the sheep), I used to start giving the milk to my parents first before giving to my children. And one day I went far away in search of a grazing place (for my sheep), and didn't return home till late at night and found that my parents had slept. I milked (my livestock) as usual and brought the milk vessel and stood at their heads, and I disliked to wake them up from their sleep, and I also disliked to give the milk to my children before my parents though my children were crying (from hunger) at my feet. So this state of mine and theirs continued till the day dawned. (O Allah!) If you considered that I had done that only for seeking Your pleasure, then please let there be an opening through which we can see the sky.' So Allah made for them an opening through which they could see the sky. Then the second person said, 'O Allah! I had a she-cousin whom I loved as much as a passionate man love a woman. I tried to seduce her but she refused till I paid her one-hundred Dinars So I worked hard till I collected one hundred Dinars and went to her with that But when I sat in between her legs (to have sexual intercourse with her), she said, 'O Allah's slave! Be afraid of Allah ! Do not deflower me except legally (by marriage contract). So I left her O Allah! If you considered that I had done that only for seeking Your pleasure then please let the rock move a little to have a (wider) opening.' So Allah shifted that rock to make the opening wider for them. And the last (third) person said 'O Allah ! I employed a laborer for wages equal to a Faraq (a certain measure: of rice, and when he had finished his job he demanded his wages, but when I presented his due to him, he gave it up and refused to take it. Then I kept on sowing that rice for him (several times) till managed to buy with the price of the yield, some cows and their shepherd Later on the laborer came to me an said. '(O Allah's slave!) Be afraid o Allah, and do not be unjust to me an give me my due.' I said (to him). 'Go and take those cows and their shepherd. So he took them and went away. (So, O Allah!) If You considered that I had done that for seeking Your pleasure, then please remove the remaining part of the rock.' And so Allah released them (from their difficulty).

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا ثَلَاثَةُ نَفَرٍ يَتَمَاشَوْنَ أَخَذَهُمْ الْمَطَرُ فَمَالُوا إِلَی غَارٍ فِي الْجَبَلِ فَانْحَطَّتْ عَلَی فَمِ غَارِهِمْ صَخْرَةٌ مِنْ الْجَبَلِ فَأَطْبَقَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ انْظُرُوا أَعْمَالًا عَمِلْتُمُوهَا لِلَّهِ صَالِحَةً فَادْعُوا اللَّهَ بِهَا لَعَلَّهُ يَفْرُجُهَا فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمْ اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّهُ کَانَ لِي وَالِدَانِ شَيْخَانِ کَبِيرَانِ وَلِي صِبْيَةٌ صِغَارٌ کُنْتُ أَرْعَی عَلَيْهِمْ فَإِذَا رُحْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ فَحَلَبْتُ بَدَأْتُ بِوَالِدَيَّ أَسْقِيهِمَا قَبْلَ وَلَدِي وَإِنَّهُ نَائَ بِيَ الشَّجَرُ فَمَا أَتَيْتُ حَتَّی أَمْسَيْتُ فَوَجَدْتُهُمَا قَدْ نَامَا فَحَلَبْتُ کَمَا کُنْتُ أَحْلُبُ فَجِئْتُ بِالْحِلَابِ فَقُمْتُ عِنْدَ رُئُوسِهِمَا أَکْرَهُ أَنْ أُوقِظَهُمَا مِنْ نَوْمِهِمَا وَأَکْرَهُ أَنْ أَبْدَأَ بِالصِّبْيَةِ قَبْلَهُمَا وَالصِّبْيَةُ يَتَضَاغَوْنَ عِنْدَ قَدَمَيَّ فَلَمْ يَزَلْ ذَلِکَ دَأْبِي وَدَأْبَهُمْ حَتَّی طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ فَإِنْ کُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنِّي فَعَلْتُ ذَلِکَ ابْتِغَائَ وَجْهِکَ فَافْرُجْ لَنَا فُرْجَةً نَرَی مِنْهَا السَّمَائَ فَفَرَجَ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ فُرْجَةً حَتَّی يَرَوْنَ مِنْهَا السَّمَائَ وَقَالَ الثَّانِي اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّهُ کَانَتْ لِي ابْنَةُ عَمٍّ أُحِبُّهَا کَأَشَدِّ مَا يُحِبُّ الرِّجَالُ النِّسَائَ فَطَلَبْتُ إِلَيْهَا نَفْسَهَا فَأَبَتْ حَتَّی آتِيَهَا بِمِائَةِ دِينَارٍ فَسَعَيْتُ حَتَّی جَمَعْتُ مِائَةَ دِينَارٍ فَلَقِيتُهَا بِهَا فَلَمَّا قَعَدْتُ بَيْنَ رِجْلَيْهَا قَالَتْ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ اتَّقِ اللَّهَ وَلَا تَفْتَحْ الْخَاتَمَ فَقُمْتُ عَنْهَا اللَّهُمَّ فَإِنْ کُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنِّي قَدْ فَعَلْتُ ذَلِکَ ابْتِغَائَ وَجْهِکَ فَافْرُجْ لَنَا مِنْهَا فَفَرَجَ لَهُمْ فُرْجَةً وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي کُنْتُ اسْتَأْجَرْتُ أَجِيرًا بِفَرَقِ أَرُزٍّ فَلَمَّا قَضَی عَمَلَهُ قَالَ أَعْطِنِي حَقِّي فَعَرَضْتُ عَلَيْهِ حَقَّهُ فَتَرَکَهُ وَرَغِبَ عَنْهُ فَلَمْ أَزَلْ أَزْرَعُهُ حَتَّی جَمَعْتُ مِنْهُ بَقَرًا وَرَاعِيَهَا فَجَائَنِي فَقَالَ اتَّقِ اللَّهَ وَلَا تَظْلِمْنِي وَأَعْطِنِي حَقِّي فَقُلْتُ اذْهَبْ إِلَی ذَلِکَ الْبَقَرِ وَرَاعِيهَا فَقَالَ اتَّقِ اللَّهَ وَلَا تَهْزَأْ بِي فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي لَا أَهْزَأُ بِکَ فَخُذْ ذَلِکَ الْبَقَرَ وَرَاعِيَهَا فَأَخَذَهُ فَانْطَلَقَ بِهَا فَإِنْ کُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنِّي فَعَلْتُ ذَلِکَ ابْتِغَائَ وَجْهِکَ فَافْرُجْ مَا بَقِيَ فَفَرَجَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ

Narrated Al-Mughira: The Prophet said, "Allah has forbidden you ( 1 ) to be undutiful to your mothers (2) to withhold (what you should give) or (3) demand (what you do not deserve), and (4) to bury your daughters alive. And Allah has disliked that (A) you talk too much about others ( B), ask too many questions (in religion), or (C) waste your property."

ابْنِ عُمَرَ ← نَافِعٍ ← إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ ← سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ،

حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ الْمُسَيَّبِ عَنْ وَرَّادٍ عَنْ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ حَرَّمَ عَلَيْکُمْ عُقُوقَ الْأُمَّهَاتِ وَمَنْعًا وَهَاتِ وَوَأْدَ الْبَنَاتِ وَکَرِهَ لَکُمْ قِيلَ وَقَالَ وَکَثْرَةَ السُّؤَالِ وَإِضَاعَةَ الْمَالِ

Narrated Abu Bakra: Allah's Apostle said thrice, "Shall I not inform you of the biggest of the great sins?" We said, "Yes, O Allah's Apostle" He said, "To join partners in worship with Allah: to be undutiful to one's parents." The Prophet sat up after he had been reclining and added, "And I warn you against giving forged statement and a false witness; I warn you against giving a forged statement and a false witness." The Prophet kept on saying that warning till we thought that he would not stop.

الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ ← وَرَّادٍ ← الْمُسَيَّبِ ← مَنْصُورٌ، ← شَيْبَانَ ← سَعْدُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُوسَی بْنُ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَعَائِشَةَ أَنَّ أَبَا بَکْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَبَّلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ مَيِّتٌ قَالَ وَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ لَدَدْنَاهُ فِي مَرَضِهِ فَجَعَلَ يُشِيرُ إِلَيْنَا أَنْ لَا تَلُدُّونِي فَقُلْنَا کَرَاهِيَةُ الْمَرِيضِ لِلدَّوَائِ فَلَمَّا أَفَاقَ قَالَ أَلَمْ أَنْهَکُمْ أَنْ تَلُدُّونِي قُلْنَا کَرَاهِيَةَ الْمَرِيضِ لِلدَّوَائِ فَقَالَ لَا يَبْقَی فِي الْبَيْتِ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا لُدَّ وَأَنَا أَنْظُرُ إِلَّا الْعَبَّاسَ فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَشْهَدْکُمْ

Narrated Ibn `Abbas and `Aisha: Abu Bakr kissed (the forehead of) the Prophet when he was dead.

عَائِشَةَ، «أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ قَبَّلَ النَّبِيَّ وَهُوَ مَيِّتٌ» ← ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ← عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ← مُوسَى بْنِ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ ← سُفْيَانَ، ← يَحْيَی بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ← عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ،

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أُمِّ قَيْسٍ قَالَتْ دَخَلْتُ بِابْنٍ لِي عَلَی رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَدْ أَعْلَقْتُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ الْعُذْرَةِ فَقَالَ عَلَی مَا تَدْغَرْنَ أَوْلَادَکُنَّ بِهَذَا الْعِلَاقِ عَلَيْکُنَّ بِهَذَا الْعُودِ الْهِنْدِيِّ فَإِنَّ فِيهِ سَبْعَةَ أَشْفِيَةٍ مِنْهَا ذَاتُ الْجَنْبِ يُسْعَطُ مِنْ الْعُذْرَةِ وَيُلَدُّ مِنْ ذَاتِ الْجَنْبِ فَسَمِعْتُ الزُّهْرِيَّ يَقُولُ بَيَّنَ لَنَا اثْنَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُبَيِّنْ لَنَا خَمْسَةً قُلْتُ لِسُفْيَانَ فَإِنَّ مَعْمَرًا يَقُولُ أَعْلَقْتُ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ لَمْ يَحْفَظْ إِنَّمَا قَالَ أَعْلَقْتُ عَنْهُ حَفِظْتُهُ مِنْ فِي الزُّهْرِيِّ وَوَصَفَ سُفْيَانُ الْغُلَامَ يُحَنَّکُ بِالْإِصْبَعِ وَأَدْخَلَ سُفْيَانُ فِي حَنَکِهِ إِنَّمَا يَعْنِي رَفْعَ حَنَکِهِ بِإِصْبَعِهِ وَلَمْ يَقُلْ أَعْلِقُوا عَنْهُ شَيْئًا

Narrated Ibn `Abbas and `Aisha: Abu Bakr kissed (the forehead of) the Prophet when he was dead.

أُمْ قَّیْسٍ ← عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ← الزُّهْرِيِّ، ← سُفْيَانَ، ← عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ،

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أُمِّ قَيْسٍ قَالَتْ دَخَلْتُ بِابْنٍ لِي عَلَی رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَدْ أَعْلَقْتُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ الْعُذْرَةِ فَقَالَ عَلَی مَا تَدْغَرْنَ أَوْلَادَکُنَّ بِهَذَا الْعِلَاقِ عَلَيْکُنَّ بِهَذَا الْعُودِ الْهِنْدِيِّ فَإِنَّ فِيهِ سَبْعَةَ أَشْفِيَةٍ مِنْهَا ذَاتُ الْجَنْبِ يُسْعَطُ مِنْ الْعُذْرَةِ وَيُلَدُّ مِنْ ذَاتِ الْجَنْبِ فَسَمِعْتُ الزُّهْرِيَّ يَقُولُ بَيَّنَ لَنَا اثْنَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُبَيِّنْ لَنَا خَمْسَةً قُلْتُ لِسُفْيَانَ فَإِنَّ مَعْمَرًا يَقُولُ أَعْلَقْتُ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ لَمْ يَحْفَظْ إِنَّمَا قَالَ أَعْلَقْتُ عَنْهُ حَفِظْتُهُ مِنْ فِي الزُّهْرِيِّ وَوَصَفَ سُفْيَانُ الْغُلَامَ يُحَنَّکُ بِالْإِصْبَعِ وَأَدْخَلَ سُفْيَانُ فِي حَنَکِهِ إِنَّمَا يَعْنِي رَفْعَ حَنَکِهِ بِإِصْبَعِهِ وَلَمْ يَقُلْ أَعْلِقُوا عَنْهُ شَيْئًا

Aisha added: We put medicine in one side of his mouth but he started waving us not to insert the medicine into his mouth. We said, "He dislikes the medicine as a patient usually does." But when he came to his senses he said, "Did I not forbid you to put medicine (by force) in the side of my mouth?" We said, "We thought it was just because a patient usually dislikes medicine." He said, "None of those who are in the house but will be forced to take medicine in the side of his mouth while I am watching, except Al-`Abbas, for he had not witnessed your deed."

أُمْ قَّیْسٍ ← عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ← الزُّهْرِيِّ، ← سُفْيَانَ، ← عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ،

قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ:‏‏‏‏ "لَدَدْنَاهُ فِي مَرَضِهِ فَجَعَلَ يُشِيرُ إِلَيْنَا أَنْ لَا تَلُدُّونِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْنَا كَرَاهِيَةُ الْمَرِيضِ لِلدَّوَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا أَفَاقَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَلَمْ أَنْهَكُمْ أَنْ تَلُدُّونِي ؟ قُلْنَا كَرَاهِيَةَ الْمَرِيضِ لِلدَّوَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا يَبْقَى فِي الْبَيْتِ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا لُدَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَنَا أَنْظُرُ إِلَّا الْعَبَّاسَ فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَشْهَدْكُمْ".

Narrated Um Qais: I went to Allah's Apostle along with a a son of mine whose palate and tonsils I had pressed with my finger as a treatment for a (throat and tonsil) disease. The Prophet said, "Why do you pain your children by pressing their throats! Use Ud Al-Hindi (certain Indian incense) for it cures seven diseases, one of which is pleurisy. It is used as a snuff for treating throat and tonsil disease and it is inserted into one side of the mouth of one suffering from pleurisy."

ع) حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أُمِّ قَيْسٍ قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ "دَخَلْتُ بِابْنٍ لِي عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَدْ أَعْلَقْتُ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْعُذْرَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ عَلَى مَا تَدْغَرْنَ أَوْلَادَكُنَّ بِهَذَا الْعِلَاقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَلَيْكُنَّ بِهَذَا الْعُودِ الْهِنْدِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنَّ فِيهِ سَبْعَةَ أَشْفِيَةٍ:‏‏‏‏ مِنْهَا ذَاتُ الْجَنْبِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يُسْعَطُ مِنَ الْعُذْرَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُلَدُّ مِنْ ذَاتِ الْجَنْبِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَسَمِعْتُ الزُّهْرِيَّ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ بَيَّنَ لَنَا اثْنَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَمْ يُبَيِّنْ لَنَا خَمْسَةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قُلْتُ لِسُفْيَانَ:‏‏‏‏ فَإِنَّ مَعْمَرًا يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ أَعْلَقْتُ عَلَيْهِ ؟، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَمْ يَحْفَظْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِنَّمَا قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَعْلَقْتُ عَنْهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَفِظْتُهُ مِنْ فِي الزُّهْرِيِّ وَوَصَفَ سُفْيَانُ الْغُلَامَ يُحَنَّكُ بِالْإِصْبَعِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَدْخَلَ سُفْيَان فِي حَنَكِهِ إِنَّمَا يَعْنِي رَفْعَ حَنَكِهِ بِإِصْبَعِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَمْ يَقُلْ أَعْلِقُوا عَنْهُ شَيْئًا.

Narrated `Aisha: (the wife of the Prophet) When the health of Allah's Apostle deteriorated and his condition became serious, he asked the permission of all his wives to allow him to be treated In my house, and they allowed him. He came out, supported by two men and his legs were dragging on the ground between `Abbas and another man. (The sub-narrator told Ibn `Abbas who said: Do you know who was the other man whom `Aisha did not mention? The sub-narrator said: No. Ibn `Abbas said: It was `Ali.) `Aisha added: When the Prophet entered my house and his disease became aggravated, he said, "Pour on me seven water skins full of water (the tying ribbons of which had not been untied) so that I may give some advice to the people." So we made him sit in a tub belonging to Hafsa, the wife of the Prophet and started pouring water on him from those water skins till he waved us to stop. Then he went out to the people and led them in prayer and delivered a speech before them.

حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ وَيُونُسُ قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ لَمَّا ثَقُلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاشْتَدَّ وَجَعُهُ اسْتَأْذَنَ أَزْوَاجَهُ فِي أَنْ يُمَرَّضَ فِي بَيْتِي فَأَذِنَّ لَهُ فَخَرَجَ بَيْنَ رَجُلَيْنِ تَخُطُّ رِجْلَاهُ فِي الْأَرْضِ بَيْنَ عَبَّاسٍ وَآخَرَ فَأَخْبَرْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ هَلْ تَدْرِي مَنْ الرَّجُلُ الْآخَرُ الَّذِي لَمْ تُسَمِّ عَائِشَةُ قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ هُوَ عَلِيٌّ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدَ مَا دَخَلَ بَيْتَهَا وَاشْتَدَّ بِهِ وَجَعُهُ هَرِيقُوا عَلَيَّ مِنْ سَبْعِ قِرَبٍ لَمْ تُحْلَلْ أَوْکِيَتُهُنَّ لَعَلِّي أَعْهَدُ إِلَی النَّاسِ قَالَتْ فَأَجْلَسْنَاهُ فِي مِخْضَبٍ لِحَفْصَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ طَفِقْنَا نَصُبُّ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ تِلْکَ الْقِرَبِ حَتَّی جَعَلَ يُشِيرُ إِلَيْنَا أَنْ قَدْ فَعَلْتُنَّ قَالَتْ وَخَرَجَ إِلَی النَّاسِ فَصَلَّی لَهُمْ وَخَطَبَهُمْ

Narrated Um Qais: that she took to Allah's Apostle one of her sons whose palate and tonsils she had pressed because he had throat trouble. The Prophet said, "Why do you pain your children by getting the palate pressed like that? Use the Ud Al-Hindi (certain Indian incense) for it cures seven diseases one of which is pleurisy."
