أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنَادِ عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَی أُمَّتِي لَأَمَرْتُهُمْ بِتَأْخِيرِ الْعِشَائِ عِنْدَ کُلِّ صَلَاةٍآخِرُ وَقْتِ الْعِشَائِ

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: “Were it not that I would impose too much difficulty on my Ummah, I would have commanded them to delay ‘Isha’ and to use the Siwak for every prayer.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ حِمْيَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَبْلَةَ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ وَأَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ أَعْتَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةً بِالْعَتَمَةِ فَنَادَاهُ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ نَامَ النِّسَائُ وَالصِّبْيَانُ فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ مَا يَنْتَظِرُهَا غَيْرُکُمْ وَلَمْ يَکُنْ يُصَلِّي يَوْمَئِذٍ إِلَّا بِالْمَدِينَةِ ثُمَّ قَالَ صَلُّوهَا فِيمَا بَيْنَ أَنْ يَغِيبَ الشَّفَقُ إِلَی ثُلُثِ اللَّيْلِ وَاللَّفْظُ لِابْنِ حِمْيَرٍ

It was narrated that ‘Aishah said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم delayed Al-‘Atamah one night, and ‘Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, called out to him: ‘The women and children have gone to sleep.’ The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم came out and said: ‘No one is waiting for it except you.’ At that time no prayer was offered except in Al-Madinah. Then he said: ‘Pray it between the time when the twilight disappears and when one- third of the night has passed.”

أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ح و أَخْبَرَنِي يُوسُفُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ حَکِيمٍ عَنْ أُمِّ کُلْثُومِ ابْنَةِ أَبِي بَکْرٍ أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَتْ أَعْتَمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ حَتَّی ذَهَبَ عَامَّةُ اللَّيْلِ وَحَتَّی نَامَ أَهْلُ الْمَسْجِدِ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَصَلَّی وَقَالَ إِنَّهُ لَوَقْتُهَا لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَی أُمَّتِي

It was narrated that ‘Aishah the Mother of the Believers said: “The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم delayed the prayer one night until most of the night had passed and the people in the Masjid had gone home to sleep, then he went out and prayed, and said: ‘This is indeed its (prayer) time, were it not that I would impose too much difficulty on my Ummah.” (Sahih)

عَائِشَۃَ اُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ ← أُمِّ کُلْثُومِ ابْنَةِ أَبِي بَکْرٍ أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ ← الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ ← ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، ← حجاج، ← يُوسُفُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ← و، ← ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، ← حجاج، ← إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ الْحَکَمِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ مَکَثْنَا ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ نَنْتَظِرُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِعِشَائِ الْآخِرَةِ فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا حِينَ ذَهَبَ ثُلُثُ اللَّيْلِ أَوْ بَعْدَهُ فَقَالَ حِينَ خَرَجَ إِنَّکُمْ تَنْتَظِرُونَ صَلَاةً مَا يَنْتَظِرُهَا أَهْلُ دِينٍ غَيْرُکُمْ وَلَوْلَا أَنْ يَثْقُلَ عَلَی أُمَّتِي لَصَلَّيْتُ بِهِمْ هَذِهِ السَّاعَةَ ثُمَّ أَمَرَ الْمُؤَذِّنَ فَأَقَامَ ثُمَّ صَلَّی

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said: “We stayed in the Masjid one night waiting for the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم to pray ‘Isha’. He came out to us when one-third of the night or more had passed, and he said when he came out: ‘You are waiting for a prayer for which the followers of no other religion are waiting. Were it not that I would impose too much difficulty on my Ummah, I would have led them in the prayer at this time.’ Then he commanded the Mu‘adhdhin to say the Iqamah and be prayed.”

أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَی قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ صَلَّی بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاةَ الْمَغْرِبِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَخْرُجْ إِلَيْنَا حَتَّی ذَهَبَ شَطْرُ اللَّيْلِ فَخَرَجَ فَصَلَّی بِهِمْ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ صَلَّوْا وَنَامُوا وَأَنْتُمْ لَمْ تَزَالُوا فِي صَلَاةٍ مَا انْتَظَرْتُمْ الصَّلَاةَ وَلَوْلَا ضَعْفُ الضَّعِيفِ وَسَقَمُ السَّقِيمِ لَأَمَرْتُ بِهَذِهِ الصَّلَاةِ أَنْ تُؤَخَّرَ إِلَی شَطْرِ اللَّيْلِ

It was narrated that Abu Saeed Al-Khudri said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم led us in Maghrib prayer, then he did not come out to us until half the night had passed. Then he came out and led them in prayer, then he said: ‘The people have prayed and gone to sleep, but you are still in a state of prayer so long as you are waiting for the prayer. Were it not for the weakness of the weak and, the sickness of the sick, I would have commanded that this prayer be delayed until halfway through the night.” (Sahih)

أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، ← أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ← دَاوُدُ، ← عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ← عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى

أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ ح وَأَنْبَأَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّی قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ قَالَ سُئِلَ أَنَسٌ هَلْ اتَّخَذَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمًا قَالَ نَعَمْ أَخَّرَ لَيْلَةً صَلَاةَ الْعِشَائِ الْآخِرَةِ إِلَی قَرِيبٍ مِنْ شَطْرِ اللَّيْلِ فَلَمَّا أَنْ صَلَّی أَقْبَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْنَا بِوَجْهِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّکُمْ لَنْ تَزَالُوا فِي صَلَاةٍ مَا انْتَظَرْتُمُوهَا قَالَ أَنَسٌ کَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَی وَبِيصِ خَاتَمِهِ فِي حَدِيثِ عَلِيٍّ إِلَی شَطْرِ اللَّيْلِ

Humaid said: “Anas was asked: ‘Did the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم use a ring?’ He said: ‘Yes. One night he delayed the later ‘Isha’ prayer, until almost halfway through the night. When he prayed the Prophet turned his face toward us and said: ‘You are still in a state of prayer so long as you are waiting for it.” Anas said: ‘It is as if I can see the luster of his ring.’ According to the narration of ‘Ali — that is, Ibn Hujr — “until halfway through the night.” (Sahih)

سُئِلَ أَنَسٌ هَلْ اتَّخَذَ النَّبِيُّ خَاتَمًا ← حُمَيْدٍ ← خَالِدٌ، ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ← إِسْمَعِيلُ ← عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ

أَخْبَرَنَا عُتْبَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَی مَالِکِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ح وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْکِينٍ قِرَائَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ عَنْ ابْنِ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِکٌ عَنْ سُمَيٍّ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَوْ يَعْلَمُ النَّاسُ مَا فِي النِّدَائِ وَالصَّفِّ الْأَوَّلِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَجِدُوا إِلَّا أَنْ يَسْتَهِمُوا عَلَيْهِ لَاسْتَهَمُوا وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُ النَّاسُ مَا فِي التَّهْجِيرِ لَاسْتَبَقُوا إِلَيْهِ وَلَوْ عَلِمُوا مَا فِي الْعَتَمَةِ وَالصُّبْحِ لَأَتَوْهُمَا وَلَوْ حَبْوًا

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: “If the people knew what (virtue) there was in the call to prayer and the first row, and they could not find any way to get to do that other than by drawing lots, they would do that. If they knew what (virtue) there was in coming early to prayer, they would compete to be first in the Masjid. If they knew what (virtue) there was in Al-’Atamah and Subh, they would come to them even if they had to crawl.” (Sahih)

أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ← اَبِیْ صَالِحٍ ← سُمَيٍّ ← مَالِكٍ، ← ابْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ← وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْکِينٍ قِرَائَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ ← على مالك بن أنس ← عتبة بن عبد الله

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ هُوَ الْحَفَرِيُّ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي لَبِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَغْلِبَنَّکُمْ الْأَعْرَابُ عَلَی اسْمِ صَلَاتِکُمْ هَذِهِ فَإِنَّهُمْ يُعْتِمُونَ عَلَی الْإِبِلِ وَإِنَّهَا الْعِشَائُ

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: ‘Do not let the Bedouin make you change the name of this prayer of yours, for they delay the prayer until it is very dark because of their preoccupation with camels and milking them. Verily, it is ‘Isha’.” (Sahih)

ابْنِ عُمَرَ ← اَبِیْ سَلَمَۃَ ← عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي لَبِيدٍ، ← سُفْيَانَ، ← أَبُو دَاوُدَ هُوَ الْحَفَرِيُّ ← أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ

أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَکِ عَنْ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي لَبِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ عَلَی الْمِنْبَرِ لَا تَغْلِبَنَّکُمْ الْأَعْرَابُ عَلَی اسْمِ صَلَاتِکُمْ أَلَا إِنَّهَا الْعِشَائُ

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم say on the Minbar: ‘Do not let the Bedouin make you change the name of your prayer; verily, it is ‘Isha’.” (Sahih)

عَلَی الْمِنْبَرِ لَا تَغْلِبَنَّکُمْ الْأَعْرَابُ عَلَی اسْمِ صَلَاتِکُمْ أَلَا إِنَّهَا الْعِشَائُ ← رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ← ابْنِ عُمَرَ ← أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ← عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي لَبِيدٍ، ← ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، ← عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَکِ ← سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ

ابراہیم بن ہارون، حاتم بن اسماعیل، جعفر بن محمد بن علی بن حسین، جابر بن عبداللہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے نماز فجر اس وقت ادا فرمائی جس وقت آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو علم ہوگیا کہ صبح کا وقت ہوگیا ہے (مطلب یہ ہے کہ صبح صادق کی روشنی نظر آگئی)

Ja’far bin Muhammad bin ‘Ali bin Al-Husain narrated from his father, that Jabir bin ‘Abdullah said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم prayed Sub as soon as he was certain the dawn had appeared.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَی النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ وَقْتِ صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحْنَا مِنْ الْغَدِ أَمَرَ حِينَ انْشَقَّ الْفَجْرُ أَنْ تُقَامَ الصَّلَاةُ فَصَلَّی بِنَا فَلَمَّا کَانَ مِنْ الْغَدِ أَسْفَرَ ثُمَّ أَمَرَ فَأُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ فَصَلَّی بِنَا ثُمَّ قَالَ أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنْ وَقْتِ الصَّلَاةِ مَا بَيْنَ هَذَيْنِ وَقْتٌ

Humaid narrated from Anas that a man came to the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم and asked him about the time of the ub prayer. The following morning he commanded that the Iqamah for prayer be said when dawn broke, and he led us in prayer. The next day when there was light he commanded that the Iqamah for prayer be said and he led us in prayer. Then he said: “Where is the one who was asking about the time for prayer? (It is) between these two times.” (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ عَنْ مَالِکٍ عَنْ يَحْيَی بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عَمْرَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ إِنْ کَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيُصَلِّي الصُّبْحَ فَيَنْصَرِفُ النِّسَائُ مُتَلَفِّعَاتٍ بِمُرُوطِهِنَّ مَا يُعْرَفْنَ مِنْ الْغَلَسِ

It was narrated that ‘Aishah said: “When the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم had prayed Subh the women would depart, wrapped in their wrappers, unrecognizable because of the darkness.” (Sahih)
