حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُاللہِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُوْ دَاوُدَ قَالَ: حَدَّثنَاَ عَبْدُالرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الذَّنَادِ، عَنْ أَبِیہِ، عَنْ أَبَانَ بْنِ عثُمْاَنَ قَالَ: َسِمعْتُ عثُمْاَنَ ؓ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ یَقُوْلُ: ((مَنْ قَالَ صَبَاحَ کُلَّ یَوْمٍ، وَمَسَاءَ کُلَّ لَیْلَۃٍ ثَلَاثًا ثَلَاثًا: بِسْمِ اللہِ الَّذَیْ لَا یَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِہِ شَيْ’‘ء فِي اْلَٔا ارضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَھُوَ الَّسِمْیعُ الْعَلِیْمُ لَمْ یَضُرَّہً شَيْ ‘ُء))۔وَکَانَ أَصَابَہُ طَرَف’‘ مِنَ الْفَانِجِ، فَجَعَلَ یَنْظُرُ إِلَیْہِ فَفَطِنَ لَہُ ،فَقَالَ: إِنَّ الْحَدِیْثَ کَمَا حَدَّثْتُکَ، وَلَکِنًيْ لَمْ أَقُلْہُ ذَلَکَ الْیَوْمَ لِیَمْضِي قَدَرُاللہِ
الأدب المفرد · Hadith 660
'Uthman said that he heard the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, "A person will not be harmed by anything if he says every morning and evening 33 times, 'In the Name of Allah by whose Name nothing in the earth or the heaven is harmed. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.'" 'Uthman had been afflicted by partial paralysis and the man to whom he said this looked at him (with surprise). He understood that and said, "The hadith is as I have told you, but I did not say it that day and so the decree of Allah was carried out."
