أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانٍ، عَنِ اللَّيْثِ، وَحَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: أَعْتَقَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي عُذْرَةَ عَبْدًا عَنْ دُبُرٍ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «أَلَكَ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُ؟» فَقَالَ: لا.فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ يَشْتَرِيهِ مِنِّي؟» فَاشْتَرَاهُ نُعَيْمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْعَدَوِيُّ بِثَمَانِ مِائَةِ دِرْهَمٍ، فَجَاءَ بِهَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَدَفَعَهَا إِلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «ابْدَأْ بِنَفْسِكَ فَتَصَدَّقْ عَلَيْهَا، فَإِنْ فَضَلَ عَنْ نَفْسِكَ شَيْءٌ فَلأَهْلِكَ، فَإِنْ فَضَلَ شَيْءٌ فَلِذَوِي قَرَابَتِكَ فَإِنْ فَضَلَ عَنْ ذَوِي قَرَابَتِكَ فَهَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا، يُرِيدُ عَنْ يَمِينِكَ وَشِمَالِكَ» .
