قَالَ الرَّبِيعُ: سَمِعْتُ الشَّافِعِيَّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ: سُئِلَ أَبُو حَنِيفَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ الصَّائِمِ يَأْكُلُ وَيَشْرَبُ وَيَطَأُ إِلَى اطِّلاعِ الْفَجْرِ، وَكَانَ عِنْدَهُ رَجُلٌ نَبِيلٌ، فَقَالَ: أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ نِصْفَ اللَّيْلِ؟ فَقَالَ: الْزَمِ الصَّمْتَ يَا أَعْرَجُ.

Spring said: I heard Shafei may Allah be pleased with him says, asked Abu Hanifa may Allah be pleased with him fasting person eats and drinks and foot to see the dawn, and had a gentleman, he said: What do you think that the dawn of the night? He said: Silence, you lame.
