حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ الْبَيِّعَانِ بِالْخِيَارِ مَا لَمْ يَتَفَرَّقَا أَوْ يَكُونَ بَيْعَ خِيَارٍ

It was narrated that 'Abdullah ibn Dinaar said: I heard 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar say: I heard the Prophet (PBUH) say: "Each party to a transaction has the option (of cancelling it) so long as they have not separated, except in the case of bay' al-khiyaar (a transaction in which the purchaser has the option of returning the goods within an agreed period).”
