حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ غَزْوَانَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَى فَاطِمَةَ فَوَجَدَ عَلَى بَابِهَا سِتْرًا فَلَمْ يَدْخُلْ عَلَيْهَا وَقَلَّمَا كَانَ يَدْخُلُ إِلَّا بَدَأَ بِهَا قَالَ فَجَاءَ عَلِيٌّ فَرَآهَا مُهْتَمَّةً فَقَالَ مَا لَكِ فَقَالَتْ جَاءَ إِلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمْ يَدْخُلْ عَلَيَّ فَأَتَاهُ عَلِيٌّ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ فَاطِمَةَ اشْتَدَّ عَلَيْهَا أَنَّكَ جِئْتَهَا فَلَمْ تَدْخُلْ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ وَمَا أَنَا وَالدُّنْيَا وَمَا أَنَا وَالرَّقْمُ قَالَ فَذَهَبَ إِلَى فَاطِمَةَ فَأَخْبَرَهَا بِقَوْلِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ فَقُلْ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَمَا تَأْمُرُنِي بِهِ فَقَالَ قُلْ لَهَا تُرْسِلُ بِهِ إِلَى بَنِي فُلَانٍ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4727
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) came to Faatimah and found a curtain over her door, so he did not enter. And he rarely entered without greeting her first. 'Ali came and saw her looking worried and he said: What is the matter with you? She said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) came to me but he did net come in. 'Ali went to him and said: O Messenger of Allah, Faatimah is upset because you came to her but you did not enter upon her. Be said: "What have I to do with (the luxuries of) this world? What have I to do with prints and decorations?" He went to Faatimah and told her what the Messenger of Allah had said. She said: Say to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), what do you instruct me to do? He said: "Tell her to send it to the people of Banu So and so."
