حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْعُمَرِيُّ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ ابْنَ رَوَاحَةَ إِلَى خَيْبَرَ يَخْرُصُ عَلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ خَيَّرَهُمْ أَنْ يَأْخُذُوا أَوْ يَرُدُّوا فَقَالُوا هَذَا الْحَقُّ بِهَذَا قَامَتْ السَّمَوَاتُ وَالْأَرْضُ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4768
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Prophet (PBUH) sent Ibn Rawaahah to Khaybar to estimate the harvest of their palm trees, then gave them the choice either to accept (his estimation) and the Muslims would guarantee them half of (the estimated amount), or to reject it and they would guarantee half of (Ihe estimated amount) to the Muslims. They said; This is indeed fair and just; on the basis of this (justice), heaven and earth were established.
