حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ قَالَ عَفَّانُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَكَّةَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ مُلَبِّينَ وَقَالَ عَفَّانُ مُهِلِّينَ بِالْحَجِّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ شَاءَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَهَا عُمْرَةً إِلَّا مَنْ كَانَ مَعَهُ الْهَدْيُ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيَرُوحُ أَحَدُنَا إِلَى مِنًي وَذَكَرُهُ يَقْطُرُ مَنِيًّا قَالَ نَعَمْ وَسَطَعَتْ الْمَجَامِرُ وَقَدِمَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ مِنْ الْيَمَنِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَ أَهْلَلْتَ قَالَ أَهْلَلْتُ بِمَا أَهَلَّ بِهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ رَوْحٌ فَإِنَّ لَكَ مَعَنَا هَدْيًا قَالَ حُمَيْدٌ فَحَدَّثْتُ بِهِ طَاوُسًا فَقَالَ هَكَذَا فَعَلَ الْقَوْمُ قَالَ عَفَّانُ اجْعَلْهَا عُمْرَةً
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4822
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that he said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) came to Makkah with his Companions, reciting the Talbiyah for Hajj. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Whoever wants to make it 'Umrah (let him do so), except the one who has the haJiy (sacrificial animal) with him." They said: O Messenger of Allah, would one of us go to Mina with his private part dripping with semen[1]. He said: "Yes." And coals were lit (for incense). 'Ali ibn Abi Taalib came from Yemen, and the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "What have you entered ihram for?" He said: I have entered ihram for what the Prophet (PBUH) entered ihram for. Rawh (one of the narrators) added: (The Prophet (PBUH) said): "We have a hadiy (sacrificial animal) with us for you." Humayd (another narrator) said: I narrated this hadeeth ) to Tawoos and ho said: That is what the people did. Affaan (another narrator) said: The Prophet (PBUH) said to ('Ali): “Make it 'Umrah."
