حَدَّثَنَا النُّفَيْلِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْمَعِيلَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِکِ بْنِ أَبِي مَحْذُورَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَدِّي عَبْدَ الْمَلِکِ بْنَ أَبِي مَحْذُورَةَ يَذْکُرُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا مَحْذُورَةَ يَقُولُ أَلْقَی عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْأَذَانَ حَرْفًا حَرْفًا اللَّهُ أَکْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَکْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَکْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَکْبَرُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ حَيَّ عَلَی الصَّلَاةِ حَيَّ عَلَی الصَّلَاةِ حَيَّ عَلَی الْفَلَاحِ حَيَّ عَلَی الْفَلَاحِ قَالَ وَکَانَ يَقُولُ فِي الْفَجْرِ الصَّلَاةُ خَيْرٌ مِنْ النَّوْمِ
سنن ابودوٗد · Hadith 504
Abu Mahdhurah reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught me the call to prayer (adhan) verbatim; Allah is most great, Allah is most great, Allah is most great, Allah is most great; I testify that there is no god but Allah, I testify that there is no god but Allah; I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; I testify that there is no god but Allah. I testify that there is no god but Allah; I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; come to prayer, come to prayer; come to salvation, come to salvation. He used to pronounce “prayer is better than sleep” in the dawn prayer.
