حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنُ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ وَإِسْحَاقُ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ الْكَعْبَةَ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَبِلَالٌ فَأَغْلَقَهَا فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ سَأَلْتُ بِلَالًا مَاذَا صَنَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ تَرَكَ عَمُودَيْنِ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَمُودًا عَنْ يَسَارِهِ وَثَلَاثَةَ أَعْمِدَةٍ خَلْفَهُ ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَبَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْقِبْلَةِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَذْرُعٍ قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ وَكَانَ الْبَيْتُ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَى سِتَّةِ أَعْمِدَةٍ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ الَّذِي بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْقِبْلَةِ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) entered the Ka'bah along with 'Uthmaan ibn Talhah, Usaamah ibn Zayd, and Bilaal, and he dosed the door. When he came out, I asked Bilaal: What did the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) do? He said: He put two pillars on his right and one pillar on his left, and three pillars behind him, then he prayed and between him and the qiblah (the wadi) there were three cubits, lshaaq said: At that time the Ka'bah was built on six pillars, and he did not mention the distance between him and the qiblah (the wall).
