حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ صُهَيْبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ الْبُنَانِيِّ قَالَ كُنْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فَجَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ إِنِّي أَشْتَرِي هَذِهِ الْحِيطَانَ تَكُونُ فِيهَا الْأَعْنَابُ فَلَا نَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ نَبِيعَهَا كُلَّهَا عِنَبًا حَتَّى نَعْصِرَهُ قَالَ فَعَنْ ثَمَنِ الْخَمْرِ تَسْأَلُنِي سَأُحَدِّثُكَ حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُنَّا جُلُوسًا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذْ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ ثُمَّ أَكَبَّ وَنَكَتَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَقَالَ الْوَيْلُ لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ لَقَدْ أَفْزَعَنَا قَوْلُكَ لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ فَقَالَ لَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ بَأْسٌ إِنَّهُمْ لَمَّا حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ الشُّحُومُ فَتَوَاطَئُوهُ فَيَبِيعُونَهُ فَيَأْكُلُونَ ثَمَنَهُ وَكَذَلِكَ ثَمَنُ الْخَمْرِ عَلَيْكُمْ حَرَامٌ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 5982
It was narrated that 'Abd al-Waahid al-Bunaani said: I was with Ibn 'Umar when a man came and said: O Abu 'Abd ar-Rahmaan, I buy these gardens in which there are grapevines, but we are not able to sell all of them as grapes unless we press them. He said: Are you asking me about the price of khamr (alcohol)? I shall tell you a hadeeth that I heard from the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) we were sitting with the Prophet (PBUH) when he raised his head towards the sky, then he lowered his head and struck the ground (with a stick he had in his hand) and he said: "Woe to the Children of Israel!" 'Umar said to him: O Prophet of Allah, we are alarmed by what you said about the Children of Israel. He said: "You have nothing to worry about in that regard. When animal fat was forbidden to them, they rendered it and sold it, and consumed its price. Similarly, the price of khamr is forbidden to you.
