حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدْعُو عَلَى رِجَالٍ مِنْ الْمُشْرِكِينَ يُسَمِّيهِمْ بِأَسْمَائِهِمْ حَتَّى أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنْ الْأَمْرِ شَيْءٌ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَوْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ فَتَرَكَ ذَلِكَ

It was narrated that 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) prayed against some of the mushrikeen, mentioning them by name, until Allah revealed the words: "Not for you (O Muhammad SAW, but for Allah) is the decision; whether He turns in mercy to (pardons) them or punishes them; verily, they are the Zalimoon (polytheists, disobedient, wrong doers, etc.)" [Aal 'Imraan 3:128].
