أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ عَنْ مَالِکٍ عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ مَوْلَی أَبِي قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ أَنَّهُ کَانَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّی إِذَا کَانَ بِبَعْضِ طَرِيقِ مَکَّةَ تَخَلَّفَ مَعَ أَصْحَابٍ لَهُ مُحْرِمِينَ وَهُوَ غَيْرُ مُحْرِمٍ وَرَأَی حِمَارًا وَحْشِيًّا فَاسْتَوَی عَلَی فَرَسِهِ ثُمَّ سَأَلَ أَصْحَابَهُ أَنْ يُنَاوِلُوهُ سَوْطَهُ فَأَبَوْا فَسَأَلَهُمْ رُمْحَهُ فَأَبَوْا فَأَخَذَهُ ثُمَّ شَدَّ عَلَی الْحِمَارِ فَقَتَلَهُ فَأَکَلَ مِنْهُ بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبَی بَعْضُهُمْ فَأَدْرَکُوا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلُوهُ عَنْ ذَلِکَ فَقَالَ إِنَّمَا هِيَ طُعْمَةٌ أَطْعَمَکُمُوهَا اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 2822
It was narrated from Abu Qatadah that he was with the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلمWhen they were partway to Makkah, he lagged behind with some companions of his who were in Ihram, but he was not in Ii He saw an onager, so he mounted his horse, then he asked his companions to hand him his whip, but they refused. He asked them to hand him his spear, but they refused. He took it, then chased the onager and killed it. Some of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ate from it but others refused. They caught up with the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم and asked him about that, and he said: “That is food that Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, gave to you.”(Sahih)
