Abu Hurayrah's narrations reach us through a vast network of teachers and students. He learned directly from the Prophet ﷺ and from senior companions, and in turn became the teacher of hundreds of Tabi'un — the generation whose preservation of his narrations forms the backbone of the major Hadith collections.

Abu Hurayrah learned directly from the Prophet ﷺ during his three years of close companionship, and supplemented his knowledge by studying with senior Sahaba in Madinah.

البول في المسجد أحسن من بعض القياس.
مَا رَأَيْتُ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ
«الْكُفْؤُ فِي الدِّينِ وَالْمَنْصِبِ وَالْمَالِ»
رُفِعَ إِلَى عَلِيٍّ يَهُودِيٌّ أَوْ نَصْرَانِيٌّ تَزَنْدَقَ
أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ
عجباً للناس يقولون إني أفتي بالرأي ما أفتي إلا بالأثر.
مَا جَاءَ
مَا رَأَيْتُ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ [ص:1096]
ما رأيت فيمن رأيت أكذب من جابر الجعفي
لولا الحرج ما أفتيت الناس وأخوف ما أخاف من الفتوى.
يقدم علينا من هذا الوجه صنفان كافران: الجهمية والمشبهة، يعني من خراسان.
القراءة جائزة -يعني عرض الكتب-
لو أن سفيان الثوري مات في زمن إبراهيم لدخل على الناس فقده.
إذا كبر على الجنازة خمساً فانصرف من أربع.
هيهات! طارت بفتواه البغال الشهب.
البول في ناحية المسجد أحسن من كثير من القياس.
ما رأيت أفقه من عطاء.
إذا جاء الحديث الصحيح الإسناد
كل طعام المجوس كله إلا اللحم، يعني: أن ذبائح المجوس ميتة.
ما رأيت أفضل من عطاء وعامة ما حدثكم به خطأ
إِذَا جَاءَ
نَافِعٌ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، «خَلَطَهُمَا يَعْنِي نَبِيذَ الْعِنَبِ وَالتَّمْرَ»
رأيت فيما يرى النائم، كأني نبشت قبر النبي
