Abu Hurayrah's narrations reach us through a vast network of teachers and students. He learned directly from the Prophet ﷺ and from senior companions, and in turn became the teacher of hundreds of Tabi'un — the generation whose preservation of his narrations forms the backbone of the major Hadith collections.

Abu Hurayrah learned directly from the Prophet ﷺ during his three years of close companionship, and supplemented his knowledge by studying with senior Sahaba in Madinah.
ثَابِتِ بْنِ وَدِيعَةَ
عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ،
وفيه يركب
بحبحة الجنة
بإبرار القسم
وعوذوا بالله من شرها فهذا ما وجدنا فيه
لا بأس إذا أخذت بسعر يومك
وآتاكم ما توعدون والله الموفق
عبد الرحمن بن علقمة ولم يقل ابن أبي علقمة
ثم دعا بماء فتوضأ ثم سجد سجدتين ثم أقيمت الصلاة فصلى الغداة
مكان ولا تحرمنا ولا تخزنا
إن الله عز و جل حبس
فهل علي من حرج أن أنفق على عياله بغير إذنه
فقال إن شاء الله فقد استثنى
وأقيمت الصلاة
إن الله عز وجل حبس
علقمة بن محزز بالحاء
ضمن لأصحابه أنصباءهم
في آخره من النعيم
كدوحا في وجهه ولم يشك وزاد فقيل لسفيان ولو كان
لم يناد بينهما ولا على إثر واحدة منهما إلا بإقامة وهكذا حفظي
الفريمة ولم يقل الفريعة
