Abu Hurayrah's narrations reach us through a vast network of teachers and students. He learned directly from the Prophet ﷺ and from senior companions, and in turn became the teacher of hundreds of Tabi'un — the generation whose preservation of his narrations forms the backbone of the major Hadith collections.

Abu Hurayrah learned directly from the Prophet ﷺ during his three years of close companionship, and supplemented his knowledge by studying with senior Sahaba in Madinah.
مَعْمَرٌ: وَبَلَغَنِي
Classical sources record more than 800 narrators transmitting from Abu Hurayrah. The following are among the most prominent, whose chains form the bulk of his narrations preserved in the Six Books.
أُقِيمَتْ صَلاَةُ الصُّبْحِ فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ يُصَلِّي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ فَجَذَبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ بِثَوْبِهِ
أُقِيمَتْ صَلَاةُ الصُّبْحِ فَرَأَی رَسُولُ اللَّهِ رَجُلًا يُصَلِّي وَالْمُؤَذِّنُ يُقِيمُ
أُقِيمَتْ صَلَاةُ الصُّبْحِ، فَقُمْتُ لِأُصَلِّيَ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ، فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِي النَّبِيُّ
ابْنِ بُحَيْنَةَقَالَ: أُقِيمَتْ صَلَاةُ الصُّبْحِ فَرَأَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ رَجُلًا يُصَلِّي وَالْمُؤَذِّنُ يُقِيمُ
ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍقَالَ كُنْتُ أُصَلِّى وَأَخَذَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ فِى الإِقَامَةِ فَجَذَبَنِى النَّبِىُّ
ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ،أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ رَأَى رَجُلاً يُصَلِّي وَالمُؤَذِّنُ يُقِيمُ لِلصُّبْحِ،
ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ أَبْصَرَ رَجُلًا يُصَلِّي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ وَالْمُؤَذِّنُ يُقِيمُ فَحَصَبَهُ
نَافِعٍ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، رَأَى رَجُلًا يُصَلِّي وَالْمُؤَذِّنُ يُقِيمُ،
ابْنِ عَبَّاسِقَالَ: أُقِيمَتْ صَلاَةُ الصُّبْحِ فَقُمْت "لأُصَلِّيَ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ، فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِيَ النَّبِيُّ
