Abu Hurayrah's narrations reach us through a vast network of teachers and students. He learned directly from the Prophet ﷺ and from senior companions, and in turn became the teacher of hundreds of Tabi'un — the generation whose preservation of his narrations forms the backbone of the major Hadith collections.

Abu Hurayrah learned directly from the Prophet ﷺ during his three years of close companionship, and supplemented his knowledge by studying with senior Sahaba in Madinah.
نَكْتُبُ مَا جَاءَ
هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ
علي وغيره وروينا في الرخصة في تركه
مُرَّۃُ
حَدِيثَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفُضَيْلِ،
خلفائه رضى الله تعالى عنهم
مثله وقد رواه أيضا يحيى القطان وبشر بن السري
مثله وقد روى هذا الحديث أسد بن موسى
مثله فلم يكن في ذلك
مثله وكما رواه جابر بن عبد الله
أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ: وَاقْرَؤُوا إِنْ شِئْتُمْ: {وَظِلٍّ مَمْدُودٍ}.
مثله غير أنه لم يذكر الزيادة التي زادها بكار في حديثه
