Abu Hurayrah learned directly from the Prophet ﷺ during his three years of close companionship, and supplemented his knowledge by studying with senior Sahaba in Madinah.

عَطَاءٍ،قَالَ: «التَّسْنِيمُ اسْمُ الْعَيْنِ الَّذِي يُمْزَجُ بِهِ الْخَمْرُ»
