Abu Hurayrah's narrations reach us through a vast network of teachers and students. He learned directly from the Prophet ﷺ and from senior companions, and in turn became the teacher of hundreds of Tabi'un — the generation whose preservation of his narrations forms the backbone of the major Hadith collections.

Abu Hurayrah learned directly from the Prophet ﷺ during his three years of close companionship, and supplemented his knowledge by studying with senior Sahaba in Madinah.
ابن عباس الفرس من النفل والسلب من النفل
فينا أصحاب بدر نزلت وذلك
السَّلَبُ وَالْفَرَسُ.
ذلك إلى الإمام سورة الأنفال آية رقم
ذاك إلى الإمام
ابن عباس الفرس والسلب من النفل. ثم أعاد عليه المسألة
بن عباس الفرس من النفل ثم عاد لمسألته
ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: الْفَرَسُ مِنْ النَّفَلِ وَالسَّلَبُ مِنْ النَّفَلِ ثُمَّ عَادَ الرَّجُلُ لِمَسْأَلَتِهِ
ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: «كَانَ الرَّجُلُ يُنَفِّلُ الْفَرَسَ وَسَرْجَهُ، فَأَعَادَ عَلَيْهِ»،
كان
ابْن عَبَّاس: الْفرس من النَّفْل وَالسَّلب من النَّفْل. ثمَّ أعَاد الْمَسْأَلَة
مَا أَصَابَتِ السَّرَايَا.

Classical sources record more than 800 narrators transmitting from Abu Hurayrah. The following are among the most prominent, whose chains form the bulk of his narrations preserved in the Six Books.
رَجُلاً يَسْأَلُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ
الحسن في قوله يسألونك
سَأَلْتُهُ
أبى امامة الباهلىقال سألت عبادة بن الصامت
الشَّعْبِيِّ {يَسْأَلُونَك

الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ أَنَّ رَجُلاً سَأَلَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْقَوْلِهِ {يَسْأَلُونَك
ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَجُلا سَأَلَہُ
عَبْدَةَ الآيَةَ {يَسْأَلُونَك
عطاء في قوله يسألونك
رجلا يسأل ابن عباس
مُحْرِزٌ [ص:276]، سَأَلْتُ الْحَسَنَ
رجلا يسأل بن عباس
الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، فَسَأَلَهُ
وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ عِنْدَهُ: «سَأَلْتُ عُبَادَةَ بْنَ الصَّامِتِ
قَوْلِهِ {يَسْأَلُونَك
عطاء الخراساني في قوله يسألونك
ومنه قول الحسن الذي ذكرناه في قوله يسألونك
سألت عبادة بن الصامت
