Abu Hurayrah learned directly from the Prophet ﷺ during his three years of close companionship, and supplemented his knowledge by studying with senior Sahaba in Madinah.

قُلْتُ لِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ:
عَائِشَةَ
دَخَلْتُ مَعَ أُمِّي عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَسَمِعْتُهَا مِنْ وَرَاءِ الْحِجَابِ وَهِيَ تَسْأَلُهَا،
خَالِهِ،قَالَ: سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ
عَامِرٍ،
خاله أبي بردة وجميع خطا وقال المسعودي
خَالِهِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ بْنِ نِيَارٍ
أَبِي بُرْدَةَ،
عائشة، تَفَرَّدَ به الحسين بن سليمان البلخي وكان من الثقات.
دخلت مع أمي على عائشة فسألتها
دَخَلْتُ عَلَی عَائِشَةَ
عائشةقالت: كان النبي يفيض على رأسه ثلاثا
عَائِشَة: كَانَ النَّبِي يتَوَضَّأ

ابن عمر،قال:
أتيت ابن عمر فسمعته
عَمِّهِ يَعْنِي أَبَا بُرْدَةَ،

خَالِهِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ،قَالَ: سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ أَيُّ الْكَسْبِ أَطْيَبُ أَوْ أَفْضَلُ؟
ابن عمرعن النبي إلا أنه
خَالِهِقَالَ سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ
