حدثنا محمد ، قال : أخبرنا أبو عبيد ثنا هشيم ، عن حصين بن عبد الرحمن ، عن يزيد الرقاشي ، قال : حدثتني امرأة ، من قومي ، قالت : « دخلت على أم سلمة ، فأخرجت إلي إناء حزرته (1) مكوكا بالمدى » فقالت : « بهذا كان يتوضأ رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم » ، قال : « وأخرجت إلي إناء حزرته قفيزا (2) بالمدى » فقالت : « بهذا كان يغتسل رسول الله صلى الله عليه » ، قال : والمدى : نحوا من القفيز الحجاجي

حدثنا محمد ، قال : أخبرنا أبو عبيد ثنا ابن أبي مريم ، عن سليمان بن بلال ، عن عبد الرحمن بن عطاء ابن بنت أبي لبيبة ، أنه سمع سعيد بن المسيب ، وذكر الوضوء ، فقال : « إن لي لركوة أو قدحا ، ما يسع إلا نصف مد (1) ، أو نحوه فأنا أبول ثم أتوضأ منه ، وأفضل » قال عبد الرحمن : فذكرت ذلك لسليمان بن يسار ، فقال وأنا بلغني مثل ذلك ، قال : فذكرت ذلك لأبي عبيدة بن عمار بن ياسر فقال : هكذا سمعته من أصحاب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال أبو عبيد : أحسبه يعني مد هشام بن إسماعيل لأنه أكبر من مد النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ، ولذلك اقتصروا على نصفه . فأما مد النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فلا أحب أن ينقص منه شيء . لأن الآثار المرفوعة كلها على كماله ، وقد أخبرت الوضوء به كافيا إذا لم يكن معه استنجاء ، ومبلغه في الوزن والكيل رطل وثلث ، في قول أهل الحجاز ، ورطلان في قول أهل العراق ، وبقول أهل الحجاز نأخذ ، وقد فسرناه في كتاب الأموال

حدثنا المروزي ، ثنا عاصم بن علي ، ثنا بشر بن المفضل ، قال : ثنا عبد الله بن محمد بن عقيل ، عن الربيع بنت معوذ بن عفراء ، قالت : كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يأتينا فحدثتنا أنه ، قال : « اسكبي لي وضوءا ، فسكبت له في ميضأة (1) ، وهي ركوة (2) تأخذ مدا (3) وثلثا ، أو مدا وربعا ، فقال : اسكبي على يدي » ، فغسل كفيه ثلاثا ، ثم قال : « ضعي » ، فتوضأ رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وأنا أنظر ، فوضأ وجهه ثلاثا ، وتمضمض ثلاثا واستنشق مرة مرة ، ووضأ يده اليمنى ثلاثا ، ووضأ يده اليسرى ثلاثا ، ومسح برأسه مرتين ، ووضع على مقدم رأسه مرتين ، ومسح أذنيه كلتيهما ظهورهما وبطونهما ، ووضأ رجله اليمنى ثلاثا ، ووضأ رجله اليسرى ثلاثا «
