389 - أخبركم أبو عمر بن حيويه ، وأبو بكر الوراق قالا : أخبرنا يحيى قال : حدثنا الحسين قال : أخبرنا ابن المبارك قال : أخبرنا أبو الأشهب جعفر بن حيان ، عن الحسن قال : كانوا يقولون : « إن لسان الحكيم من وراء قلبه ، فإذا أراد أن يقول يرجع إلى قلبه ، فإن كان له قال ، وإن كان عليه أمسك ، وإن الجاهل قلبه في طرف لسانه ، لا يرجع إلى القلب ، فما أتى على لسانه تكلم به » ، وقال أبو الأشهب : كانوا يقولون : « ما عقل دينه من لم يحفظ لسانه »

393 - أخبركم أبو عمر بن حيويه ، وأبو بكر الوراق قالا : أخبرنا يحيى قال : حدثنا الحسين قال : أخبرنا ابن المبارك قال : أخبرنا يحيى بن أيوب ، عن عبيد الله بن زحر ، عن الهيثم بن خالد قال : كنت خلف عمي سليم بن عتر ، فمر عليه كريب بن أبرهة راكبا ووراءه علج يتبعه ، فقال له سليم : يا أبا رشدين ، ألا حملته وراءك ، قال : أحمل علجا مثل هذا ورائي ؟ قال : فهلا قدمته بين يديك إلى باب المسجد ، قال : ولم أفعل ؟ قال : أفلا نظرت غلاما صغيرا فحملته وراءك ؟ قال : ولم أفعل ؟ قال سليم : سمعت أبا الدرداء يقول : « لا يزال العبد يزداد من الله بعدا ما مشي خلفه »
