حدثنا محمد بن بشار، قال: حدثنا أبو داود، عن شعبة، عن فراسٍ، قال: سمعت مدرك بن عمارة يحدث، عن ابن أبي أوفى، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فذكر مثله. قال أبو عبد الله: فالإيمان: هو الطمأنينة، واستقرار القلب، وإنما هما اثنتان:فأولى: طمأنينته إن استقر قلبه، وسكن إن وحد ربه، ولم يلتفت إلى شيء سواه، فيتخذه رباً.وأخرى: طمأنينته أن يكون مقبلاً عليه، فيجمع قلبه، فلا يلتفت إلى شيء من شهوات نفسه، ولا إلى أحوالها، فالذي يزني ويسرق، فهو في حالته تلك غير مطمئن إلى ربه طمأنينة الإقبال، ولو كان كذلك، لم يزن، ولم يسرق، وقد ذهب الإقبال، وجاءت شهوة النفس بالإقبال عليها، وهو في طمأنينة التوحيد.والإيمان: اسم يلزم العبد بفعله، وبدؤه من النور الذي جعل الله في قلبه، فأحياه به، وشرح صدره، ونطق بتوحيده لسانه {ومن لم يجعل الله له نوراً فما له من نورٍ}.وكل شيء له مبتدأ ونهاية، فأوله لازم ذلك الاسم له، ومنتهاه: وهو البالغ.فالذي وحد ربه بقلبه ولسانه، وقبل الشريعة: هو مؤمنٌ قد حرم ماله ودمه وعرضه، ثم هو أسير نفسه.والمؤمن البالغ: الذي ماتت شهوة نفسه، وقطع قلبه عن كل شيءٍ سواه، فهذه قلوب الأنبياء والأولياء.وللمؤمنين فيما بين هذين الحدين درجاتٌ، كلٌّ يعمل على درجته، فكلهم عبيدٌ قد أقروا له بالعبودة، ولا يفي له بالعبودة الكاملة إلا الأنبياء والأولياء، وذلك أنهم تركوا مشيئتهم في جميع أمورهم لمشيئته، وهكذا صفة العبيد، رفضوا المشيئة في جميع الأشياء، وتركوا الاختيار للأحوال، ولا يقدر على هذا إلا من نور الله الإيمان في قلبه.كما قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في صفة حارثة حيث قال له: ((كيف أصبحت؟))، قال: مؤمن حقاً، قال: ((وما حقيقة إيمانك؟))، قال: كأني أنظر إلى عرش ربي بارزاً، وإلى أهل الجنة كيف يتزاورون، وإلى أهل النار كيف يتعاوون، قال: ((عرفت فالزم)). ثم قال: ((من سره أن ينظر إلى عبدٍ قد نور الله الإيمان في قلبه، فلينظر إلى هذا)). قال أبو عبد الله: فإذا امتلأ القلب أو الصدر من النور، كان كما وصفه الله: {أفمن شرح الله صدره للإسلام فهو على نورٍ من ربه}. فكان المؤمن عندهم في زمن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من كان بهذه الصفة.ولذلك قال أبو بكر رضي الله عنه: وددت أني شعرة في صدر مؤمن.لما عرفوا غور هذه الكلمة، وأثنى الله -تبارك اسمه- على إبراهيم خليله بعد أن شهد له بالتسليم، حين أراد ذبح ابنه، وهو الإسلام، وشهد له بالإحسان، فقال: {إنه من عبادنا المؤمنين}.وقال ضمرة بن ربيعة، عن ابن شوذب: إن الله إذا أثنى على عبد، فأبلغ في الثناء، قال: {إنه من عبادنا المؤمنين}.ووصف المؤمنين في تنزيله، فقال: {إنما المؤمنون الذين إذا ذكر الله وجلت قلوبهم وإذا تليت عليهم آياته زادتهم إيماناً} الآية إلى قوله: {أولئك هم المؤمنون حقًّا لهم درجاتٌ عند ربهم}.ومن هاهنا استجاز من قال: الإيمان يزيد، وكما يزيد فإنه ينقص، (سمي الزائد من النور في صدره إيماناً، وما ينقص فمنه ينقص).والأصل الذي منه بدأ التوحيد قائم، فبأقل النور يصير موحداً، فاطمأن به وعبده رباً، وهو إيمانه، حتى إذا نما النور، وامتلأ القلب، وأشرق الصدر منه، اطمأن إلى جميع مشيئاته، وأحكامه وأموره، كما اطمأن به، ومن قبل هذا لم يقدر أن يطمئن إلى مشيئاته وأحكامه؛ للشهوات المستولية على قلبه، فلما امتلأ القلب من نوره خشيةً ومهابةً، ودخلت عظمته في قلبه، ماتت شهواته، وذهلت نفسه، فاطمأنت النفس، وسكن القلب، وعليه الخشية والرهبة والهيبة والحياء، وسكن قلبه على تدبيره وأحكامه وأقضيته، كما سكن على توحيده في بدء الأمر.فكان أصحاب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بهذه الصفة، وكانوا إذا قالوا: مؤمن، فإنما يسمون ما يعرفون من أنفسهم، وكان بعضهم في تخليط من هذا، ألا ترى أنه لما هاجت الفتن ووقع التخليط، قال حذيفة: لو رميت بصخرةٍ من أعلى المسجد والناس في المسجد، ما أصابت مؤمناً، فلم يكن عندهم كفارٌ لما أحدثوا، ولكن زلوا عن تلك الدرجة التي كانوا يسمون أهلها بذلك الاسم.ومما يحقق ما قلنا:

ما حدثنا به قتيبة بن سعيدٍ، عن مالك بن أنسٍ، عن ابن شهابٍ، عن عبد الرحمن بن كعب بن مالكٍ: أن أباه كعب بن مالكٍ كان يحدث عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: أنه قال: ((إنما نسمة المؤمن طائرٌ يعلق في شجرة الجنة حتى يرجعه الله يوم القيامة إلى جسده، ثم يبعثه)). فليس هذا لأهل التخليط فيما نعلمه، إنما هذا للصديقين، فكان اسم المؤمن عندهم هكذا.فقول رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: ((لا يزني الزاني حين يزني وهو مؤمنٌ)) إنما يعني بذلك: الإيمان البالغ، لا أنه يذهب توحيده، ويكفر، وإنما يتأول مثل هذا جهال الناس، وحمقاؤهم، ولو كفروا بذلك، وزال عنهم الإيمان، لكان حدهم القتل، وحدودهم جلد مئة في الزنا، وقطع اليد في السرقة.ولكن تأويل ذلك الحديث: أنه إذا زنى المؤمن، فهو في ذلك قد فقد نور إيمانه، وحجبته شهوته التي حلت به عن ذلك النور حتى وقع فيه، فسلب ذلك النور، وصار محجوباً عن الله، فلما تاب، راجعه النور، وذلك النور هو الذي يسمى إيماناً؛ لأنه اطمأن بذلك إلى ربه، فذهبت طمأنينته في وقت استعمال الشهوة، فاطمأن إلى شهوته. فالعبد عندما أدركته الهداية من ربه قد كان من قبل ذلك قلبه في تردد وجولان، طالباً لمن يتخذه رباً ويعبده، فلما جاءت الهداية، واستنار القلب وسكن، واطمأنت النفس عن الجولان والتردد في طلب معبوده، فقيل في قالب العربية: آمن يؤمن إيماناً، وهو في قالب العربية: أفعل.ومن الخوف قيل: أمن؛ لأنه كان يضطرب، فلما ذهب الخوف، سكن، فقيل: أمن على قالب فعل، فكلما ازداد العبد نوراً، ازداد سكوناً وطمأنينة عند أموره وأحكامه.ومن قبل ذلك: كان الغالب على قلبه شهوات نفسه، فكان القوم إذا ذكروا المؤمن، يعلمون أن ذلك المؤمن الذي قد اطمأن قلبه عند أموره وأحكامه إليه.ومن هاهنا:قال أبو الدرداء رضي الله عنه: مثل الإيمان مثل قميصك، بينا أنت لبسته إذ أنت نزعته.

حدثنا عيسى بن أحمد، قال: حدثنا بشر بن بكرٍ، قال: حدثنا سعيد بن عبد العزيز، عن بلال بن سعدٍ، عن أبي الدرداء، قال: كان عبد الله بن رواحة إذا لقيني، قال: اجلس يا عويمر فلنؤمن ساعة، فنجلس، فنذكر الله بما شاء، ثم يقول: يا عويمر! هذه مجالس الإيمان، إن مثل الإيمان ومثلك مثل قميصك، بينا أنت قد نزعته، إذ لبسته، وبينا أنت لبسته، إذ نزعته، يا عويمر! القلب أسرع تقلباً من غلي القدر إذا اجتمعت علينا.

حدثنا قتيبة بن سعيدٍ، قال: حدثنا ابن لهيعة، عن يزيد بن أبي حبيبٍ، عن أسلم، قال: سمعت أبا أيوب الأنصاري يقول:ليأتين على الرجل أحايين، وما في جلده موضع إبرةٍ من النفاق، وليأتين عليه أحايين، وما في جلده موضع إبرةٍ من الإيمان.قال: فإنما يخلو منه ذلك النور المشرق في صدره، وأما إيمان التوحيد، فهو بمكانه.وقول ابن عباس حيث قال: لم يزن عبد قط إلا نزع عنه نور الإيمان، يدل على تفسير حديثه الذي رواه: ((لا يزني العبد حين يزني وهو مؤمنٌ)).وفي قوله: (حين يزني) فإنما ذكر الحين، وهو وقت الفعل، ففيه دليل أنه في ذلك الوقت صار محجوباً عن النور وزايله.

حدثنا أبي رحمه الله قال: حدثنا أحمد بن يونس، قال: حدثنا أبو شهابٍ، عن أبي حمزة، عن الحسن، عن أبي سعيدٍ الخدري رضي الله عنه، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: ((لا يزني الزاني حين يزني وهو مؤمنٌ، ولا يسرق السارق حين يسرق وهو مؤمنٌ، ولا يشرب الخمر حين يشربها وهو مؤمنٌ))، قيل: يا رسول الله! وكيف يصنع إذا واقع شيئاً من ذلك؟ قال: ((إن راجع، راجعه الإيمان، وإن ثبت، لم يكن مؤمناً)).

حدثنا أبي رحمه الله، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن يونس، عن طلحة بن يزيد، عن عبد الله بن محرزٍ، عن عطاءٍ، عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: ((لا يزني الزاني حين يزني وهو مؤمنٌ، ولا يسرق السارق حين يسرق وهو مؤمنٌ، ولا يشرب الخمر حين يشرب وهو مؤمنٌ، ولا يقتل وهو مؤمنٌ، فإذا فعل ذلك، نزع منه نور الإيمان كما ينزع منه قميصه، فإذا تاب، تاب الله عليه)).فإنما خفي شأن هذا، وذهاب هذا النور من القلوب، ورده عليه؛ لأن فتن القلوب قد عمت، والصدور قد شحنت بظلمة الإصرار على الذنوب؛ من المآكل الرديئة، والمكاسب الدنسة، والأخلاق البذلة الفاسدة، والحقد والغلو، والغل والغش، والحرص على الدنيا، فقد غمر هذا الخلق، فكيف يتبين عندهم ذهاب النور ومجيئه؟
